This touched my heart in way's no one will ever know. Been down sick with the RSV since December 8 was in ICU for a few weeks and then another couple of weeks in hospital haven't listened to anything for a while. Tonight I finally decided to check out the new series. Thank you so much for this wonderful story.
Englishman here I'm absolutely loving this audiobook, if it happened here in Blighty we wouldn't last 5 minutes as 0.04% have firearms and those of us who had handguns had to hand them over after a madman went and shot kids in a school back in 1998! You are not even allowed any knife over 3 inches apart from kitchen knives! So we would be Zombie meat. Keep up the good work👍👍
Thank you so much! I really want to do a "Dead England" or "Dead Europe" series because it would be so much different because of the reasons you just listed. Glad you're enjoying the books, and if you haven't yet, don't forget to check out the playlists, because there are a TON of books/stories on there!
yeah but you guys DO have some historical castles placed in such a way that you wouldnt have to deal with hordes coming from all angles as well i'm sure they're historical museums that contain long polearms. yall also have the advantage of much MUCH less heavily dense populated areas. lack of guns while true would be a serious problem castles theoretically wouldnt take much to get up and functional, get their forges burning and chumming out spear heads and arrow heads.
This is awesomeness you got going on here. Lol as i set cleaning my firearms and leaving oily fingerprints on my screen. Thanks for this Masterpiece. About halfway through this gem. I started digging out , cleaning my extra hardware an loading my extra mags lol. Remember my fellow listeners. You never know when things will go south. So in the mean time stock up, Prepare. An keep your weapons clean and your Blades sharp
Thank you so much, I really appreciate you listening. I have been having a lot of fun this one wrapped up the 6th book this morning. There's some big things on the way too!
While it is true a million rounds aren't much it sure is when you have less bullets than total digits lol I like this kid, Cillian and I'm hoping for the best for him due to his resourcefulness and looking forward to the soldiers point of view, even though I know some dudes aren't going to have a great experience I'm glad to be able to listen and reply now, as I had work get me wrapped up and had an incident that left my eyes a bit messed up but I'm out of hospital care and almost back to myself, no permanent damage. Time to catch up on these awesome stories!
Well, you know me, my characters always have an easy go of it, right? haha. And glad you're on the mend! sorry that you had to go through that, but glad you don't have any permanent damage. Hope you enjoy the stories!
Haha that's for sure, but I am glad to see the story back up in the northwest! The only thing for sure is that no good can come from this conflict! Also thanks dude, appreciate the well wishes and the kickass stories! Gonna binge this good stuff out lol!
Oh sweet! So we are going to see things from their side of things? I mean technically the milita isn't the "bad guys" they are just working against the characters we know and love. Humanizing them will really make this a lot harder to discern than the enemies in El Paso! Looking forward to it! Thanks for all the hard work dude!
Yeah, I'm going to be giving a sampling of what life was like for one of the militia groups, skipping around over the first month. And they're very much humanized. They were coming off as faceless enemies in this series, and that's not what I intended them to be. I didn't want the issue to be black and white, because there's a whole lot of gray. If I do it right, it's going to be hard to tell who are the good guys and who are the bad guys, or if anybody is good or bad. At least that's my hope
Funny that I went into the Army the day I turned 17, but apparently now if you're 28 and living in your mom's basement you are a kid? Gotta love the "modern B.S. going on now." Too young to buy a beer??? A veeery large number of the military is below that age.
Dang, show up a day late, and there's already a hoard ahead of me. Ya gotta be fast to be 1st. Even though I only have one leg now, I'm still secure in surviving the Zombie Apocalypse. Life doesn't slow down, and neither have I. Give me a Strap-On AK, and together, we'll take back our world. My take on "Planet Terror". #LifeOn1Leg
@DerekSlatonHorrorAuthor All Things Tarantino that dude is legend. Dust till Dawn is still one of my favorites 🧟♀️ The way I see things, if you want to be able to survive any situation, prepare for a zombie apocalypse 🙂
This is the newest book in the series that just came out on Saturday, with part 2 coming out today at Noon (ET). If you check the playlists there are nearly 100 books in the main series (starting with Dead Texas Day Zero), an 18 book spinoff called Lowcountry, and two different playlists with a couple dozen standalone titles.
1 million ammo is not even significant, therell be no shortage of ammo in a zombie apocalypse in the usa, the country produces over 8 billion ammunition annually in total, there could be 100 billion bullets in the usa at any point
It does, but in much more limited quantities. Plus they're in the PNW, where the milita groups have banded together and who had a month head start on the military in terms of resource gathering. Add in the military expending most of their ammo getting through Spokane and Seattle, and their fuel situation being dire (so they just can't fly more in from other parts of the country) amd you have an ammo shortage
My platoon went through 100000 rnds of 5.56mm in a out 2 hours in Panama. Had to get rid of training rnds or we would have lost them the next year. I was lighting cigs off my barrel.
@@DerekSlatonHorrorAuthor assuming theres 100 billion ammo in the usa, it means youd have enough ammo to shoot 350 million zombies over 280 times each when all it takes is one headshot, i wouldnt be worried about ammo, theres enough ammo in a city to kill all the zombies in that city
Probably not for a while on that meet-up. Rufus has his hands full down in El Paso, and Atticus has a big series coming up as he goes back out to Kansas. But that would be a fun pairing.
I don't belive so. Traverse city was just meant to be a one off. I would have to go back and look because I might have included a reference (like talking via radio) I just crossed over 2.5 million words in the series and a few hundred characters, so it is a little difficult to keep everything straight without my notes, haha
I'm not really a fan of the human v human aspect of a zombie apocalypse as the titular zombies take a back seat to the chaos, i think thats why i really like the early days of the apocalypse, sure we get the "laMOEs" (Last Man On Earth) but once it desolves into Human Vs Human i really lose interest 😓 but i guess thats just my personal opinion, I'm really hoping we get a book for the ISS or even a submarine one. So far i really like the Tales from the frontline series, those are great & the series as whole is great too!
I do try to mix it up to keep things realistic, because there would be human v human violence in a real apocalypse. Once I wrap up the first month soldier series (have a few more of those stories) I have one that I'm plotting out that is set in NYC, which is 100% human vs zombie (and covers the first couple of months of the outbreak)
@DerekSlatonHorrorAuthor now that I can't wait to see as I really like humanity banding together against this unnatural enemy, I understand the Russian scientists storyline ended with him being patient Zero but I wonder if we'll ever see what happens to his body or if he's still out there running around Texas as a mindless zombie or even a super zombie of sorts haha Just wishful thinking I guess.
I'm pretty sure that Russian scientist/patient zero is long gone. Austin got bombed, which most likely took him out. And to your point about humanity banding together, one of the characters in this series brings this point up to one of the humans they're facing off against.
Starting with the one coming out on Saturday, I'm using an upgraded voice which sounds better. But it's the nature of the beast, because it's either release one story every few months with a human narrator, or multiple stories a week with AI.
@@DerekSlatonHorrorAuthor I have listened to ever single one of this series up to this point and I was frustrated when you first swapped narators but then started to like it but this feels like I'm being talker to not having a storey read to me I'd prefer to wait with the better quality
I love every single 900+ stories. No joke. I listen to everything this guy writes.
On Friday night, i imagine how great Saturday will be when i see the latest installation of the Zombie Apocalypse. Thank you Derek
Hope you enjoy this one! It's kicking off some big things!
Thank you Derek! Glad to see we are back with the Captain and his crew in Idaho.
Hey David, thank you! And we're with them for a few moments at least, haha. Their big story is yet to come
D Rock, the writer with unlimited zombie stories, out with another banger!
Thank you so much! And part 2 will be out on Wednesday. And hang on tight because this series is just getting started.

looking up the lists of castles yall got over there Bodiam, dunnottar and leeds all look highly ideal.
Back to Idaho, awesome. This is exactly where I live. I cant tell you how much I look forward to my Saturday fix of Dead America.

Yes, that ammo exists. The problem is that 98% of it is located in heavily populated areas. Doesn't matter how much ammo exists if you can't get to it
Interesting. I think that ammo exists in rural areas.@@DerekSlatonHorrorAuthor

A little off topic but is there a storyline in the works that would reunite Atticus and Rufus?
