I've seen it in enough videos now to declare it, but I'm under the belief that Gourley is Conan's comedy security blanket. He often looks over for assurance after a joke because Gourley is such a good comedy barometer and it makes me very happy to see so. This podcast makes me so incredibly joyful.
I just started the CNAF podcast today and the first episode was good, but Matt was really quiet :( But then he sparked up when Conan starting (ripping to shreds) Star Wars prequels lmao and Matt was great. I can't wait to get to the episodes where Matt is more confident in speaking up.
They are so in the groove now. They are great together.
I didn't know anything about Elle Fanning's personality (maybe seen just a 5 min interview with her years ago) but she is so charming and fun to listen to! I was really pleasantly surprised by this episode. She and Conan vibed really well, like they're old friends.
I notice that Elle has an ICE DRINK in front of her, clearly not following Conan's rigorous beverage vetting program.

I have a feeling, that, in an alternate universe if Conan had children with a black woman like Naomi Campbell, other than being really tall people, they would still be pale as a Kabuki theatre artist. And the paleness WOULD NOT STOP THERE. it would be passed on to generations. That's some power . Or maybe That's not power, that's a curse, curse to get cancer from the sun. That ain't white power at all. I believe even if Conan was a racist guy, he wouldn't be able to shout "White power", because, his paleness is definitely a burden

I binged both seasons of The Great after listening to this episode, so seeing Elle here makes me realize she was pretty naturalistic in that part! Wow, she's a great actor! With pink undertones lol
ETA: no STRAWWWWW??? Perhaps this is the interview that started the entire "ice noise" discussion, for that is one helluva large iced coffee she has!
I like how there are multiple cameras and they all seem to be potatos. But the best is the apparent digital zooms using said potato cameras. While everyone else is chasing megapixels, Team Coco is all like "You know what... less is more."
There are 11 year old Conan video blog clips with intentionally bad resolution... that looks better than what we have here.
Not that I really care. I was content in the 90's watching animes that I spent all night downloading onto zip drives over a 14.4k dial up modem. I just think this is funny.

Alot of podcasts do this. I think its to make people look better then they actually are. I saw Conan the other day on some stage and even through the make up you can see the man aged because the camera was really HD and lightning setup revealed everything. It wasnt pleasant to watch😅

She's 24 now. That's still young to me, but I'm old. You probably feel old too now, but I can guarantee that I am older.

This isn't the entire conversation. That's in the podcast, and I think she comes off quite well throughout it. If a person grew up with more privilege than me, then that just makes them privileged, not spoiled. "Spoiled" is a comment on someone's personality and not an accurate one for her, not even based on these five minutes. In order to explain how she got into acting at a young age, it was necessary for her to divulge certain details about her family. I don't see how being honest about where you came from and how it affected your path in life is a character flaw.
