I've always been really impressed by the lighting in the exterior scenes of that episode, especially the moments April talks to the camera. It's gorgeous.
I love in the last ep of S5 when everyone's complaining to Leslie and the head of sanitation says "thanks to Leslie we've had to turn one of our bathrooms into a women's bathroom, now we only have one bathroom." That had me ON THE FLOOR!

Contrary to what it may seem, April's present to Leslie was actually quite thoughtful. She was just sharing what she loves. What? She loves garbage 🤷♀️😏
Actually, it would be more believable that she just gave her trash. April's character does things to confuse others and just does weird things to do weird things. Especially at this point in the series, April hasn't made any real emotional connections with any other characters yet.

Sometimes it is purely for amusement but sometimes she does confusing things because to her, it's an amusing way of showing she cares which other characters, such as Leslie, soon learn and grow to appreciate

I love the positivity of this show. Even though so much of it is about politics, they managed to find a way to poke fun at both sides relatively equally while also giving them stories that resolve into victories. I would love to find other shows that accomplish this.
Nothing positive was said about sexists. They were just made fun of and proven wrong and they had no authority to undermine the change in hiring practices.
My cousin and I alternate between this and It's Always Sunny. We love them both and love all the characters in each. The difference is, we'd like to have Parks and Rec folk in our lives as friends and the It's Always Sunny folk we'd not want anything to do with, other than to maybe observe them from a safe distance.
the script is pure gold. Some people just have something so good, anything else pales in comparison. Think watching cool stuff like PnRand then switch channels to watch crap like Reboot Last Man Standing. Pfffff Pass!

How they got to 20% really quickly.. but struggled to get to even 25% despite every line manager, team leader and HR being female in the department. I’ll give you a clue, waste workers work in teams of five. One is the team leader and drives the vehicle. The other 4 “walkers”:walk behind doing the manual work… go on. Guess what happened. I bet you’re right.

This plot hole always bugged me. The guy says that refrigerator works fine- they just got a new one. That would never happen in a kitchen. If the reach in fridge is working fine, they wouldn’t just replace it on a whim. Secondly, that’s like a $4,000 industrial fridge. Even used, they could get like $1,500-$2,000 for it. They wouldn’t just toss it out back like a piece of garbage.
How did the business get it outside? Why didn't they just use the same people/method to get it on the truck? Whose truck is it anyway? Also, the garbage guys didn't from the call they couldn't pick up the fridge?

I read about a test someone did for a mover in an interview (not sure if this is a story or real,) where they show a young, muscular guy a big safe, and tell him to move it, and he immediately says, well, that's a two man job at least, with equipment. Gets the job.

Those guys couldn't move the fridge, they knew it was something too heavy that required a specific set up and a certain amount of people. Yet they sent Leslie and April to do it without telling them anything, without giving them any tools to do it, and they pretended the regular, usual two garbage men could do it by themselves. They lied and set them up just to "prove" their point which "Females don't belong doing that job."

to make women look good you have to have evil/stupid men. if you wrote the episode with legitimate trash collection work the women would have failed because they're office workers doing a very physically demanding job
I read about a test someone did for a mover in an interview (not sure if this is a story or real,) where they show a young, muscular guy a big safe, and tell him to move it, and he immediately says, well, that's a two man job at least, with equipment. Gets the job.
