As a LN reader, I am angry that JC Staff removed one line from Veltol which is in my opinion one of his best lines, and that he realized that Meldia is love because he played dating sims and I quote: "What you feel for the Hero is not affection, but romantic love. You can trust my judgment-I’ve been playing tons of dating sims lately". Why JC Staff, why?
Time stuff ig . They also skipped the part where meldia explained why she gave gram the eternal youth and it was because grams light was so bright she didnt want that light to get fade away and give him a gift. But because of that gram lost his light and meldia wasnt able to see him , ahe was blind to him . That was such a good and emotional scene i think shouldve been in the anime instead of the last few scenes . They couldve cut these and give time to that .
This was definitely one of the most unique anime I've seen in a good while. It has a unique premise, a decent story, solid animation, and characters who are just fun to watch. Fingers crossed for a season two. 👍🏾
This show was so good. You had enough character building, plenty of banter between the main people. The fights when the happen were amazing. And Hiziki Goddess mode..... yeah.
Man I’m gonna miss this, honestly after what happened to misfit this became my favorite demon lord anime. The fights, the comedy, the story and characters all of it was great. The battle between veltol and melida was great, the back and forth, veltol figuring out the goddesses authority and then gram coming in to help. Then you have how he helped the goddess realize her mistake, hizuki saying F you to all of Akiba was fantastic. My low key favorite part was when you know veltol was doomed in that instant second you saw hizuki with that smile on her face from him saying he wanted a revenge match😂😂😂😂. We definitely need a second season, I love this anime so much.
People really underestimate demon lord 2099 bcs of Veltol being a streamer and also a demon lord(almost being similar to that one anime where a demon lord worked at a restaurant). The plot was amazing, the lore, the story and the cyberpunk theme. I rate this anime a 9.5/10 tbh. Hope we get a season 2!
Veltol pretty much teach Meldia what romantic love is 🤣 I absolutely loved those two' fight and Gram helping in the back! Hizuki's bold speech to Akihabara' folks was incredible 😤 She is now in a new High School with Takahashi! Overall, I really liked watching this show and enjoyed its art direction, characters writing, story and world building 😌 I hope from the bottom of my heart that this show will get a season 2 🙏🏻
Okay that was freaking sick when Gram grabbed Vel and threw him at Meldia. I was a little traumatized by the ED playing only to realize it was halfway through the ep lol. Kinda funny seeing Hizuki being more cheerful etc. Good finale.
Such a satisfying fight. Everything from Gram just frenemy catching Veltol with a force field so he went splat, to giving the Demon Lord a fast ball special. It was great that it actually felt like a battle between a goddess and a demon lord, too. I'm happy that Meldia seems to be slumbering within Hizuki still, though. She doesn't seem like a bad goddess, a foolish and desperate one maybe, but not one that had malevolent intent. Its quite likely that Gram could have sorted her out and gotten Hizuki back with just a therapy session heart to heart if he cared enough too.
As a Light Novel reader, I must say, nobody's ready for the next arc set in Yokohama. It involves a man ascending to Godhood, homunculi, and a Utopia/Dystopia in an Orwellian way.

This episode was anime original . There is a reason why they did a anime original ending : A) Bcs they know they cant do season 2 so they did fanservice B) They did a more climactic and hype battle so that anime can be popular and we could get a season 2 In the books gram sees the war almost getting started then looks at the school building and says idc and leaves the town . The red meldia and gram fighting is all anime's original thing. Other than that the story is the same .
by the sounds of it i like this version better especially with the out of controll goddess losing her grip on the sword at the glimpse of gram being her final sight in the fight. and it seems odd the the "hero" would just turn away when a goddess coonnected to him was putting lives in danger

Oh my… they really executed the last episode of season 1 really well despite changing a bit of the plots and stuff from the LN. Really hope we get a season 2 soon!
It was a great season, i want season 2. I Can't believe the Goddess said that she hate men with Black hair that she prefers blonde men. I see now why she gave the hero eternal youth because the hero is blonde and she is in love with him.
Man I really hope this gets more seasons. If the same studio with at least some of the same staff works on a season 2 and beyond I know it’ll succeed where the last two demon lord shows failed. My only fear is that future seasons won’t have as much of a strong first episode as this one did. Overall though, Demon Lord 2099 was a surprise but a very welcomed one.
Good news: the light novel for Demon Lord 2099 had two volumes that were published in October and November 2024 while the anime episodes were coming out. Give them a year or two and we might get an S2.
Just finished watching ep 12... And have more questions lol... I stumbled upon this anime from recapp channels. The voice casting is top notch and has a very interesting plot... But it was a anti climax curtain closer. The season final is very confusing... Im surpised hero gram doesnt meet up with the meldia... Whatever happened to the cult group and May?

Tbh i wished Gram got to meet Meldia face to face. But oh well, the plot was still executed perfectly well!
