I'm 51 and used to go to many raves and house parties, best time of my life, good times that are just sweet memories, big up all who was raving back in the day ❤🫶🏾
Don't know about all these comments about raving back a day. I still mash it down now and again. 46, kids grown up. But I'm more a house party kinda gal these days 😅
Nothing compares to the ukg rave scene around LDN back in the late 90s early 2000s. UKG was so big it literally imploded and then became a pariah for all the clubs around London due to the moody scene that came from the birth of grime.
When I wake up in the morning, I have a smile upon my face, I look up and see the sunshine now im ready for a brand new day. I'm happy i'm living now i'm ready for a brand new day. . . . I'm alive cant you see, i'm glad to be me. 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Same here. I never actually play U.K. garage, anymore but will always love it. Saying that, I used to mix my vinyl loads but stopped in 2014. Garage was so good 1997-2001 was incredible Started with tunes like R U Sleeping and near the end we got the incredible WOOKIE, probably best garage producer to live.
HQ Bar, Leeds. We stole hearts. I was a little bit older but I used to listen to Hot Ninety someting on Satellite. Back in 1991 and this offset of House Music started to emerge. I was producing music and I just loved where house was going… back to Paradise Garage. I started listening to NY Garage, Jazz and some oldskool (at the time) jungle. It just seemed to merge. The tunes in especially 1992/3/4 were of a different calibre. Then 1995 brought something truly different but not quite there. Then vocals came into play, a bit like old house music (all night long) but the British flex with the Jamaican bass line was king! Happy hi hats and closed hats two-stepping and 4/4 landed beautifully. Still, we got turned away from clubs wanting to put nights on because they didn’t want black peoples there. Shame, because our nights were SOLD OUT. I’m mixed race. I saw the racism with my own eyes. Now, they wouldn’t dare turn any youth movement away. I’m an old woman now but I know my history and my shit. It was never a London Ting, they just had more opportunities than us, them being in the south surrounded by media outlets. I remember the BBC coming to see us and it was a pointless exercise because the wanted to have a channel called ‘1-Extra’ they decided that was just a ‘visit’ to make sure they’d’visited’ the ‘north’. They had no intention of basing their channel up ‘here’… funny… Channel 4’s Headquarters are now based here… BBC were so behind. I know all of Ss Crew, Bubbling Crew, Dynamite, Craig David, etc… ask them. We put on ALL OF THE NIGHTS in Leeds AND, our night was voted BEST NIGHT OUT IN THE UK by MixMag ! You cannot write it! God bless though x
