It is such a tremendous joy to watch you paint. I’m new to the hobby and you’ve really inspired me and my sons to paint. Please keep it coming. My three sons and I sit and watch and enjoy hours of painting.
Watching your videos where you use contrast paints helped motivate me to paint my own Black Templar troops. I've found Black Templar to be too strong a paint that obliterated my highlights, so I'm going back in with a drybrush of silver and then coat after coat of Nuln Oil to take that sharp silver highlight down to a muted gray and let the armor still look 'black' to the eye. I wish I had your brush control. You have very slow, smooth, deliberate brushwork.
Thank you very much for your videos, the dedication you put into it has encouraged me to return to painting blood angels many years later. just thank you and tell you that I am delighted to see every new video you upload. long live the hobby! 💪💪😜
I like your Contrast + How To Paint Videos. I will start a Deathwatch Army and struggle with Black Power Armor. If you paint a standart black marine would you do the same? Or would you just use Gray Seer Spary and Black Templer without Leviadon Blue?
I've actually preordered the Deathwatch Combat Patrol today to do a full how to paint Deathwatch video coming very soon! To answer your question though yes I would absolutely do a blue before the Black Templar on regular Deathwatch Marines. All the original Painting guides indicate that the highlights are Dark Reaper and Thunderhawk Blue which are obviously a clean Blue highlight. Buuuuuuuut at Warhipster towers why do all that extra highlighting when you can get the Contrast Paints to do it for you? :)
