The Rubettes were formed when it was sensed the song was going to be HUGE. Paul DaVinci was offered to be vocalist but turned it down to concentrate on a solo career (he had a huge hit around the same time with "Your Baby Ain't Your Baby Anymore"),so guitarist Alan Williams took over the lead vocals. Only drummer John Richardson played on this record. Apart from that,good to see you delving into the glam rock cannon though,maybe some Suzi Quatro/Wizzard/ Slade/Sweet or especially The Glitter Band (love the 2 drummer thump on their records). I may just let Paul know about this little extended mix - he's still touring to this day,as is Alan Williams with his version of The Rubettes,and also drummer John Richardson,bassist Mick Clarke and keyboardist Bill Hurd with their version of The Rubettes.

Mein Großvater hat viele Jahre gesucht und ab und zu etwas von Showaddywaddy gefunden. Die Rubettes haben auch Album 1-5 in sehr guter Qualität und mit Bonus Material herausgebracht, Alben 6,7,8 fehlten allerdings was viele Fans bedauerten. Nun kann man noch auf 2024 hoffen , dann wäre es das 50. Jubiläum der Band und hoffentlich ein Anlass mal alles kompakt zu veröffentlichen. Hoffentlich mit Bonusmaterial und die fehlenden Alben der Jahre 1989 bis 1996.
