Because I was running out of storage space for my tools and winter was coming, I decided to renovate an old abandoned outbuilding near my cottage, which as you can see was in a very bad shape.

Because I was running out of storage space for my tools and winter was coming, I decided to renovate this old abandoned outbuilding near my cottage, which as you can see was in a very bad shape.
I managed to finish my project on a bright and peaceful winter morning. On the same day, I found out that my beloved grandpa had passed away. I dedicate this video to him, the man who taught me so much and raised me well.
Let us all cherish and embrace our beautiful elders, as they are our living treasure. Their wonderful stories and priceless teachings will always brighten and live on in our hearts.

Johanna, your beloved grandpa had to be an amazing human being to have helped raise someone as special as you. In my younger days I prided myself on working with my hands and tackling challenging jobs. But you my dear friend have outdone and surpassed anything I would have done. Your construction skills are much to be admired. There is nothing you can't do. I had to laugh as you did when you tried to break apart that cement tile after you scored it. I knew there was no way that slender lady was going to break that tile. Watching you carry those roof coverings and walking on those beams on the roof convinced me you fear nothing. I still can't wrap around my head the knowledge of so many things you are able to do. A tribute to your grandpa for sure. You have so many redeeming qualities. You are smart and talented in so many ways. Well educated too it appears because your writings read like poetry to ones ears. I'm sure your grandpa was the proudest man on earth to know he helped raise the coolest lady on the planet. May he rest in peace. Your relationship with your cat displays the enormous love in your heart. Those who are close to you are so lucky to have you in their lives. Again, thank you for making my day. I am very blessed to have had such a wonderful grandfather - calm, loving, skilled but humble, in harmony with nature and its natural remedies, and very much in love with his homeland. I learned many things from him, and he is still teaching me - I have learned so much these last few weeks while I was next to him, taking care of him. A few weeks before he died he had a beautiful dream - he said he went to a beautiful wedding that was held somewhere on the green hills of my country. Everyone was wearing white beautiful clothes - our folk costumes. Everyone there was so joyful, he remembered them dancing our traditional folk dances and pure little children playing. I am sure he is now in a place as beautiful as he dreamed of. May his beautiful soul rest in peace! We call our grandparents - "bunei" - "the good ones, or the ones that are good/kind". I think that's a wonderful way to call your grandparents, as most of them brought so much kindness in our lives. Take care, dear friend! Blessings to the whole family!

RIP to your grandpa, he must have been such an exceptional human being to have taught you so much in life. You do him very proud, I'm sure! It sometimes disturbs me that elders are often seen more as a burden, and not the treasure trove of knowledge they can be. As a teen I always enjoyed talking to the elderly even more than people my own age. You really get a sense of history and how humans are so much alike across generations, rather than the differences. Since they've seen so much they can give good advice, but it's up to us to listen. This was a wonderful way to honor him.
