Calm Before the Storm is transcendent. One of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard.
I've watched and rewatched the build up and transition into the battle theme at least a dozen times already, it's sooo good!
When Marc comes in on trumpet in the battle theme, it feels so powerful. It's like he has been prepared to play this since the game came out.

I'm absolutely astonished at how little views these have despite the amazing quality of them all. The transitions and composition of it all are an absolute masterpiece, ESPECIALLY the Battle Theme buildup. I've come back and listened to the whole album along with your other Final Fantasy medleys many times now since discovering them. Keep up the great stuff and looking forward to any future work :)

I only recently found you through Dr.Pez's Ocarina album and I must say I am NOT disappointed! I have watched ALL your Final Fantasy medleys and I am hooked. I know it's been said before but the amount of dedication and work that must have gone into this is incredible! I mean, arrangements, collaborations, sound and video montage and editing... just WOW!!

I've been following your work since the FFIX Medley and I cant count the number of time I've been listening to it over and over. This medly isnt a medley, it's a fucking masterpiece, a symphony, a musical, I dont know how to call it but it's pure talent and genius !!! The amount of small details everywhere is insane !!! The arrangement can't be more perfect, SE should hire all of you and make a Marc Papeghin Ensemble tour !
For the story I was traveling across Canada last year and had a bit of LSD when this medley came out. I put my headphones on, lay down on a couch, closed my eyes and listened. I had every possible emotions you can imagine. I wasnt in Canada anymore, I was travelling through my childhood memories, traveling through Spira, listening to every sounds that have been put together to make this piece of art possible. It was like feeling the heart and energy every person that work on this project as a whole, and it was overwhelmingly beautiful. I cried, laughed, screamed, wiggled on the couch from happiness, excitement and surprise.
The bridge at 11:05 and the lyrics of the song before , and around 21:00 were a storm of emotions. it echoed so much with what I was going through. The emotions I was still processing after losing the life i had been creating for myself for the last 5 years, the woman I loved, my home and family. It gave me such a relief from the emotional pain, because this time I wasn't crying from the losses, but I finally reached a point where I could emphasize with the pain I had, the pain she had, and I cried with a smile, because somehow I had this moment of limitless empathy and hope.
It's already a long comment, still I felt the need to thanks all of the person that made this masterpiece possible. It has been more than music to me, it was more than words, hope at a moment I had none, so thanks to all of you for not only making this medley, but for all the love you put in your music in all the projects you worked together !

Here I am listening again to this wonderful piece of music and love while working on my next game. Thank you so much for this incredible work !
This is just incredible. I was really amazed by every transition, they blend so smoothly (the Hurry and Battle theme build up and drops are lit!).
There's a massive prog influence that I like in it, though you managed to keep it at bay when producing different atmospheres (the Devam Et sequence gives me goosebumps every time).
At first I was disturbed by the lyrics, adding a voice and choirs is a delicate choice when dealing with instrumental OST, but after several listenings I just found them pertinent and the mood they convey goes from cheerful to dramatical.
First part of this 4-parts album is my favourite, nevertheless the whole album reminded me some of the progressive rock concept albums like Pink Floyd did (I am especially thinking about Echoes), in which some lengthy parts, isolated from the rest of the album sound distant and void, but when listened as a whole, in a row, within the album, demonstrates how important it is, setting the background pictures. I could even see scenes from the game (that were sometimes shown in the video part) just by listening to it, and that felt as dreamy as Spira could be.
Long story short, c'était vraiment très impressionnant et je savoure encore plus à chaque nouvelle écoute, hâte de voir tes futurs projets !

Comme tout album de prog je pense qu'il faut en effet de multiples écoutes pour le "digérer" et en capter tous les détails !

This is like my tenth time listening to this now, really fantastic work from all involved. I love how you mixed Run with Otherworld, the transition to the battle theme, and the Thunder Plains most of all. Hope you keep doing stuff like this, though I know they have to be very ambitious and long projects.

I simply cannot put it into words how good this is. I was hooked the entire way. Loved the transitions, loved every new take on a song. The whole thing was an amazing ride, but Cloister of Trials was the biggest surprise; I just love the lyrics, the vocals and the beautifully mysterious vibe you've given it. So much effort and so much talent. I can't wait to check out the rest of your work!

Everything's already been said: genius of immense proportions! At last, someone who understands what Uematsu music, what prog is, and who blends it all while having an authentic musical personality and going far beyond just a "copy", even a tribute. For the anecdote, I'd just add, Marc, that you almost caused a car crash the other day and that driving while listening to your re-creations is obviously a bad idea because my eyes always get wet at some point and I end up crying behind the wheel. Thanks for everything, hope you get the recognition you deserve.

There's many thing to discover each listening, you've done a wonderful job and I like how surprising it was for me to have this much vocals in it. I love this game, this music and your arrangement. This is a fucking masterpiece. There are so many epic moments and transitions throughout. The battle theme transition is flawless, and the way you did Seymour's theme at the end was just fucking nasty (in the best way possible.) Bravo to all involved. I'm headed to listen to the rest now.

I CAN'T STOP CRYING!
Undoubtedly great work - the addition of vocals isn't necessarily something I love (on first listen anyway - this may easily change, they aren't offensive by any means) but I gotta say, a lot of times the vocal tone reminds me a lot of Steven Wilson and a bunch of porcupine tree stuff which is nice :). I think part of what I love so much about these medleys is revisiting the instrumental tracks either as they were in the game - or an approximation of them then turned into a medley, which is nigh on the same as far as nostalgic enjoyment goes. I see from other responses some of the other pieces are more instrumentally focused rather than vocal - I eagerly look forward to checking them out, but want to set aside time to enjoy them properly as stuff like this comes as a rare treat :3
Thanks to you & every one involved for no doubt working for months if not years putting this together - it is very much appreciated and I will be sure to share it with anyone who enjoys prog rock, final fantasy - or better, both :D.
I feel similarly about the vocals... I don't think they're strong enough to really add to the piece, it distracts from the killer instrumentals. And I love Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson lol. But knowing the rest of it is more instrumental encourages me to keep going

Somehow got major Interstella 5555 vibes from 5.25 onwards and thats nothing but a good thing. I could listen to the entire narrative of FFX covered in this lyrical way...so its awesome that theres three more parts to go!

The amount of anticipation and uncertainty surrounding this project was approaching TOOL levels, to the point where I never thought I'd see it released, so I'm thrilled that it's finally here! Looking forward to the many listens that this will surely be getting :)

I feel like this is more like the FFX Rock Opera as opposed to your usual medleys. I think that's why people are reacting negatively to this in the comments. I'm also not a fan of rock opera, but at the end of the day you have to do something as an artist that you, yourself, want to do and appreciate. Congratulations on your accomplishment either way!

@@deuceyd8468 When it was first uploaded, I noticed the very first comments were about how much people were hating the vocals and how they wouldn't even know it was FFX unless they were told by the title because of how derivative and experimental the tunes are in some early parts of this. I also noticed there were a lot of thumbs down, but that may have changed since then.
