- I'm recreating some of the drinks served at Star War's Galaxy's Edge Oga's Cantina! It's not going to be easy, but never tell me the odds.
Star Wars Galaxy's Edge is now open at both Walt Disney World and Disney Land. By luck I happened to be at Walt Disney World the week after Galaxy's Edge opened and I was thoroughly impressed by Oga's Cantina! It's a fantastic themed environment that really did a great job of capturing the feel of a Star Wars bar or cantina, and the drinks were inventive and fun, and provided awesome presentations. I've chosen four drinks from the menu to recreate in this episode of How to Drink, and task ahead isn't going to be easy. I only have rough ingredient lists to go by, and a single visit to Oga's and my memory of tasting notes I had there. In this episode I may make a misstep or two, and start over to get it right.

manufacturer : "WARNING : do not use more than one charger"
barkeep : "3 chargers"
me : "force the Use barkeep!"
Last video it was a "they say only use one, but we'll use two because we know what we're doing". This one it's "we're going to use three because we can!"
How To Drink Sichuan peppercorns. Same thing that makes things like mapo tofu numbing. The peppercorns, which aren’t actually pepper, are fun to chew on too. Same thing you are doing. 🍻
That bubbling one would make a very cool slow gin fizz
I found an Amazon seller with them in stock
Greg in two years...................so for this next drink you will need a large hadron collider, now I don't own one but the people at CERN let me borrow it.
Also you need 12 grams of antimatter. That will really up the ante and intensify the whole drink.
*smacks lips* "wow, that's flavorful"
If he alters a strainer with a particle accelerator, he could make a large hadron colander to triple-strain drinks!
Ok so for this drink your going to need to make on Mars to get that nice airy fom and a nice chill
@@Kyzrath amazing
Was honestly expecting Andrew Rea to burst through your wall in a furious rage when you said "Soos-Veed"
Welcome back to Beating with Babish...
I expected guga to pop out
roflcopterprods and “soy letchitin”
It sounds like a Leone-ism
Just came down to the comments so see if anyone else got caught off guard by that
Props for using the despecialized Death Star explosion.
Thank god someone noticed that
Disney has released a Galaxy's Edge cookbook which included some of the drinks ...of the ones you covered, only the Dagobah Slug Slinger and with that one you got pretty close. Definitely some visually interesting drinks!
I did not know that was a thing. Now that I know it is, I need it in my life.
I need this
Yo post the recipes here
I have it and it's an awesome cookbook but the drinks require some special ingredients that need to be ordered. Like Walmart doesn't carry Cotton Candy Monin Syrup lol. The only drink I was really able to make was the Blurggfire which even that one was hard to find because I needed a chili lime mix. According to the Star Wars wiki the Blurggfire is canonically up to interpretation so you don't have to make it exactly like the recipe but it was the easiest of the drinks to make but still semi complicated. The second easiest is the Hyperdrive but that one even requires black cherry puree which isn't easy to come by.
Youd have an easier time making the special ingredients if you can (black cherries and puree them in a food processor) most times you can find replacements
Absolutely watched the whole thing before commenting.
Must be running some new fangled hyperspace motivator then
In case you read this - my friend introduced me to a shot called a Green Tea - It's a mix of Irish Whiskey, Peach Snapps, and Sour Mix and somehow when you mix them together it does indeed taste exactly like drinking a sweet green tea. It made me realize there are alot of these weird combinations that make like "magic" shots that don't taste anything like the some of their parts and an episode of them would be fantastic.
Is it equal parts of each ingredient? I have two bottles of Irish whiskey right now.
Pinging for amount.
Sounds like a toned down version of a Long Island iced tea. I’d try it.
Amaretto and vanilla vodka shaken over ice tastes like a nilla wafer
@@Iceman-kr6df A shot of amaretto in a pint of beer can taste like Dr. Pepper or root beer, depending on the beer.
Thank you, Drink Master Greg, you're our only Hope.

Whoever thought up the liquid nitrogen shit for the cantina glasses should get a promotion, it's so simple yet effective
Dry ice not liquid nitrogen
If that was liquid nitrogen that guy wouldn't get a promotion, he'd probably get a sentence.
It's not solid nitrogen either. It's solid carbon dioxide
Nah, I've seen injuries from cryogenic liquids and solids. I'd never drink anything that has something that cold currently in it.
@@overestimatedforesight ice?
Credit where credit is due: This may be the coolest "how to drink" ending lineup I've seen. Sure, not technical, or classic drinks, but damn cool. Well done, and Thanks for the awesome content!
That's because dry ice is really cold.
The dark souls one was cool as well
Nice, I love star trek.
Pigs in Spaaace ...
It's Space Jam, you fools!
😑
It's alien dunnh
come on guys, it's clearly from Treasure Planet
Love how for the Dagobah Slugslinger, in the closeup absolutely NONE of the ice got in
The way I would describe the buzz button effect is "the start of an allergic reaction".
I've never had an allergic reaction, so I've got to try this...
"It was a drive-by fruiting!"
Why did that make me laugh so hard?
The slow mo shots of Greg losing all of his ingredients to the counter are my favorite
I think I'm going to need the jet chill thing so I can make some kick-ass D&D drinks.
At two thousand USD, I'm not sure you do...
@@Emizaquel @ wait, what? It's only $2k? I was expecting more the way he was talking.... that's not terrible, really, for an instant dry ice machine. I'm sure it can be used for more than just drinks with some ingenuity...
Broadpaw Fox 2k for the original purchase, so then you might need to buy refills or whatnot whenever it needs those (if it does)
@@Emizaquel New model out soon
@@Broadpaw_Fox That particular machine isn't that price :)
Have you considered doing a riff on 'Sparkling Muscatel: One of the Finest Wines of Idaho' from the Muppets movie? Love the channel!
Putting it on the list!
There is only one Muppet Movie and that is the one with Orson Wells.
@@ObiTrev STEVE MARTIN: Would you care to . . . smell the bottle cap?
Going to Disney soon hopefully and excited to try Ogas. Been there many times before and ya the Simply orange with tangerine is synonymous with most of the fruity cocktails on property.
Wow! Pre-special edition Death Star explosion. Haven’t seen that in years. Good on you.
"She liked being the gunner... which I have to think about, actually"
LOL
I thought all the drinks at Oga's were too sweet, but the Slug Slinger was my favorite too. That slightly creamy factor? Nice. If I make it at home I'll probably try to infuse some rosemary flavor into the actual drink. You killed this episode, Greg!
In St. Louis, Missouri we have a locally made spirit called "Zambu" which is a buzz button liqueur. It tastes slightly like grapefruits and poprocks.
It's because the name of buzz button: jambu
Why does that sound like the best thing ever?
Holy crap that sounds magical.
Absolutely do more Oga's Cantina drinks! Mostly because I can't get back for another two years so I'll be living vicariously. (And best role on the Falcon is the gunner: easy to do, close enough to the action to see.)
Sid: *shoots down tie fighter* "Daddy, I got em!"
Greg: "That's great sweetie... don't get cocky!"
The buzz button sensation is the same experience as authentic Szechuan cooking accomplishes with Szechuan peppercorns...you mix that feeling with a lot of spicy chilis- you numb your mouth and burn it at the same time...it's pretty great!
This is the way
There is actually a book that does have some of the exact recipes. "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook" and they even have some of the cocktail recipes in it!
My first encounter with those little yellow plant buds was while I was trekking around the jungle. One of my friends that lives in the jungle had mentioned they were not also fun to eat but helped with a bad back.
The Fuzzy Tauntaun could easily be done as a non-alcoholic drink.:
the tropicana blend he used
a bit of peach juice (there is a peach juice from Simply apparently)
and some kind of clear soda, that will provide the head base too.
I’m very eagerly awaiting a Part 2! I’ve been attempting to make the Jedi Mind Trick and Outer Rim cocktails but to no avail. Help me Greg, you’re my only hope!
What have you tried?? The menu says “Patrón Silver Tequila, Cedilla Açaí Liqueur, Lime Juice, and Pure Cane Sugar topped with Black Salt and Exotic Fruit Purée”. So I’m thinking this is a margarita with the açaí liqueur in place of triplesec. Maybe 2 oz. tequila, 1 oz. açaí liqueur, 1 oz lime juice, 0.25 oz simple syrup, and then mango purée? I haven’t tracked down the açaí liqueur yet but it does appear to be a product on shelves, and black salt isn’t too hard to find.
Kudos to Bernard. “6.21 parsecs.” That would be Greg “Doc Brown” in his Mr. Fusion equipped Man-Delorian somewhere in the Outer Rim territories?
Man-Delorian -- HA!!!!!!!!!!!!
I gotta tell ya, if you don't make an original drink called "Death Stick" I'm gonna be 100% sad.
If drinking it doesn’t make you go home and rethink your life’s choices, i want my money back
Why do I think a Death Stick drink involves absinthe?
@@WalkingDedman it's a safe bet.
You probably have to vape it with a bike pump.
Corrus-cant Death Stick: 3 parts absinthe, 5 parts gasoline, some used bong water and a touch of salt: leave in the freezer overnight in a thin container. To be used the same way Disney treated Star Wars lore: as a suppository.
DANGIT!!! Right when I'm about to go to work! Well, I'll have to watch this tonight for sure.
And to let you know, Greg, you inspired me with the last episode to try making a Naughty Dog at home. I think my girlfriend and I have found a new favorite cocktail to enjoy in the evening after work, you naughty dog, you.
Whoever is doing the text: Big Dad Energy is EVERYTHING!
Last time I was this early Greg was still cleaning up all the alcohol he spilled in the close ups
Fuzzy tauntaun is right up my alley.
That Jet Chill setup is ingenious! Kudos to the guys that came up with it.
I have absolutely no need for one, but I really want it.
Holy crap did I appreciate you showing the iterative process on the last drink. I like seeing the failures as well as the successes, they can both be just as informative
The legendary distance for the Kessell Run is 12 parsecs, if memory serves.
The drinks look mighty good, Greg and they are as close as I will ever get to Disney World so thanks for making and sharing!
Also, be sure C3PO is switched off next time your 3 year old is piloting. I'm sure she heard C3PO's calculations on successfully navigating an asteroid field and it threw her game off.
How many ppl are here who don't even drink, but appreciate the pour shots and nifty chemistry?
Those all were really cool to see, especially the dry ice ones! And thank you for a non-alcoholic one, too!
11:17 "I want 1 oz. of lime jizz." Maybe that's not the word to suddenly pronounce with a bad french accent
11:17 *
Ah, so I'm not the only one who heard that... 😂
I love the unusual ingredient recipes like the buzz buttons in this tauntaun drink. They inspire food and drink recipes for story writing, and honestly my own cooking experimentation on friends.
This is one of the coolest drink making videos I've ever seen, that final line up was definitely out of this world!
Awesome work dude. Three of those drinks were the ones we ordered at Oga's. Its an amazing concept for a bar. They should open up some outside Disney
HTD: The Movie; featuring Greg and a gang of anthropomorphic cocktails
Love this episode! The sensation from the buzz button flowers in the fuzzy tauntaun foam is a lot like the numbing feeling from sichuan peppercorns in sichuan Chinese cuisine without the heat!
YES PLEASE!!! More star wars drinks!
Christ your presentation is gorgeous. I can’t even drink yet but I feel like I AM drinking these.
You’re sort of like the Binging with Babish of alcohol and I love it!
The first background music tune reminded me of the 4 musicians playing the 20s song in the cantina. Love it!
These videos are always so satisfying to watch, definitely would love to see a part 2

This channel I just found not too long ago and has turned into 1 of my top 5 channels to watch religiously I could binge watch it all day like a Netflix drinking series lmao

"I have been judged". If you had a Star Wars fan sitting there, I'm amazed that he could keep quiet all the times you mispronounced "Dagobah".
this is one of the best channels around. thank you for making these
I enjoy your videos very much, and I'm glad that you different background music.Thank you for your intoxicating shows!
tasting notes: 9 volt battery is one of the funiest things ive read
The carbon freeze looks like a really dirty lava lamp.
These are INCREDIBLE!!
The tingling plant you used is actually a native Brazilian plant (called jambu here) and it is commonly used here in a type of cachaça called "cachaça de jambu", famous all over the country for it's numb mouth gimmick, It is also used for cooking in some northern Brazilian dishes, although I have never tried it that way.
🤔 Disney seems to be disliking the direction this star wars thing is heading... the establishment... the movies... the movies...
If i disappear tomorrow. Goofy did it.
Every new video amazes me with your creativity. I‘m probably never going to make this cocktails that need too exotic ingredients, but it‘s still a blast to watch
Great show! As a person who visits WDW every year I LOVED THIS!

I'm starting to run a Star wars Force and destiny campaign in a couple of weeks, so having some themed cocktail ideas couldn't come at a better time for me, thanks a million.
It's really funny how if you pair the music of John Williams with almost anything else, that thing becomes instantly more epic. This episode was so fun, great job!
My daughter is a cast member/server in the cantina at Disney World. Great show and keep'em flowing.
The constant bubbling on the bespin fizz is so cool
The Galaxy's Edge cook book has an exact recipe for the Dagobah Slug Slinger! Also I'm with you, the Slug Slinger was easily my favorite of the Oga's drinks. That rosemary garnish is the MVP.
That book was published after I shot this, and I panicked about it! When I checked against it, it looks like my recipe is correct, or at least near enough.
Yes please! More SW drinks!
This is awesome. Please do more Galaxy’s Edge drink videos!
These drinks are so fun
I really enjoy how the Galaxy's Edge team took a bunch of different recipes that aren't that unusual, but adjusted the names to sound alien, and added in a unique twist to each with a slightly unusual ingredient and/or gastronomy! ❤
