Lifelong motor transport guy, old school, so vehicle maintenance always done, but as you've pointed out, it can apply to just about everything. Tools, household appliances and checks, physical fitness/ health etc, etc. Prevention better than cure. Another good video.

Great phrase I heard recently: If you don't schedule maintenance on your equipment, your equipment will schedule it for you.

🙏🙏 you sir, have nailed it on this one!!😎 flashlights, 1st aid, booster cables, towing straps, block&tackle, some fluids. Works the same as the house. Biggest concern is remembering where everything is, I bought 4 extra toolboxes to have all repair tools and materials on hand. Great video!

Also for an area people often don't think of: life choices. If you / you see someone making steps down a path where the end isn't good, a little course-correction goes a long way!

When I was in the Army my M16 was always clean.
More importantly after the service I transitioned to pistol competition my guns were broken down and cleaned frequently. All it takes is one round to ruin your day, or a malfunction due to filth to not win. Each stage has to function flawlessly, otherwise why bother and show up.

so that's what it is called PMCS! I always try to inspect my daily gear such as footwear, bags, clothes, gadgets, etc. based on a schedule. My family thinks I'm just obsessive compulsive on my material things, but they thankfully paid off. We had a picnic on a hilly place, so all our our footwear got tested thoroughly. Since I do PMCS on my gear, mine didn't break, but all of my family members did. Thankfully I had glue on me so it was crisis averted, but should it have been a more serious situation, it would have spelled disaster. Great video as always!
EDIT: This is I think, the most relatable and pronounced when maintaining personal vehicles. I just own bicycles and after every ride, I clean and make them ride-worthy again before I rest so, if I ever need to ride them, they're good to go.

I have reminders in my calendar for everything that expires in my first aid kit and for medication as well. That way I can replace it before it expires. I check my go-bag and the bag I keep in my car regularly since the content varies by time of year.
Thank you for this video :)

I like to sweep and mop the stairs twice per week to avoid grit being stepped on and scratching the finish. I do this so that the vulnerable wood underneath the finish never becomes exposed and so I do not have to refinish the entire set of stairs in five years time.
