Really good video really explains how to do step by step did this to my mk5 gti working perfectly 👌👌👌
I am happy it helped! Enjoy the buttons
Great DIY content 👌🏽 Standing by for more 🙌🏽
Lovely, now i can buy a Aliexpress carbon wheel for £150 and change the buttons from my OEM one to those with the Carbon wheel 👌🏽
How would I know if my car is compatible with mfsw? I’m not sure how to use the website.
Many thanks 🥰 Now i know which module i need to buy.. Btw, i dont disconnect battery.. 🤭
It's safe to have the battery disconnected.
bro a huge migos fan :D
Yesssss
wonder if it works on golf mk5 1.4tsi late 2006? (if it matters the motor cod is BMY it doesn’t have those cables you took out to put the new one!
I cant be sure about that but maybe check if your module is high line. I am no VW expert just a guy that did some research on my model.
Thanks for this video i really appreciate your time please I have volkswagen golf Mk5 1.6 16v FSI, Year 2005 can this work for me?
Is your car a manual or automatic (dsg) ?
I bought mk5 and has a gti full steering wheel with paddle shifts but ex owner told me it was changed to this but for some reason nothing works on it
@@WatanWatan-ms7fx maybe try checking with vcds
Can you send me a link to buy the buttons.I have a vw eos it may be suitable
@@user-bz7rj9wy1s please check on ebay
Hi, my golf 5 is a lowline but has mfsw? Can i make them Work?
High-line is what I know supports mfsw
@@Miaxkashpls try with one lowline too so we can thank you more
I have literally just finished doing this to my car. Mine is a 2008 gti DSG edition 30. The buttons all work with no coding. Volume works etc but the up and down arrows unfortunately do not control the radio or skip tracks 🙃
Great to hear it worked for you as well. Yes I cant skip tracks with the up down keys either. If you code that unfortunately when you want to change the info in the display it will be changing tracks which can also be annoying.
I tried looking it up maybe you know but how can i add it to a manual
With a manual transmission from what I read you will have to change the entire wheel.
RCD 330 too bros just like me fr 😂🤣
Perfect radio unit
Hey, I drive an 12/2007 ED30 GTI. It is a manual, how would it be possible to get the MFSW to work?
Hi i have had for manual cars you would have to change the entire wheel. This method only works for dsg models.
Bro i have got golf 1.4 s 2008 model, will those buttons work on it?
I did my research based on the gti mk5, you can try to follow the same due research process and see if it can work.
Great video! I’m surprised that it worked with the rcd330 radio. I have 2008 Jetta with the same radio and can’t get the volume working 😢. Any tips?
Thank you! I believe mine has an updated CANBUS module which could be the reason why the volume buttons work with it. I am speculating that this may be the reason why they work. Do you experience any battery drain with the rcd330?
@@Miaxkash thanks for your reply. Nope, no battery drain, but no controls working either.
@@robertomarcolin2515 Is this just the volume buttons that aren't working ?
@@Miaxkash The four buttons from the left side are not working. The other four from the right side work perfectly (the ones that shows fuel consumption, sets some preferences, etc).
If I put back the stock radio (Premium 7) the four buttons from the left side starts working again.
Thanks!
@@robertomarcolin2515 I am not sure why that is happening but if I come across a possible solution I will definitely share.
Right now i have basic SE steering wheel on my Mk5 1.6 FSI auto. I want to install a MFSW GTI steering wheel.. will this need a new 'control module' too underneath? Thx
Check which control module you currently have and see if it supports the buttons. Also note the installation is for a dsg transmission golf.
I have a mk5 2.0 tdi that i bought with gti mf steering wheel, my buttons are not working, there is no light on them too can you help me
Hi, are there any errors in VCDS ?
Would this work on a Mark 5 Comfort line with an aftermarket Apple Car play radio??
I am not sure if it would work.
Did it work I have same question?
I've been told this would only work for dsg model wheels only. I have a manual, and from what I've heard some modifications need to be made. Is this true?
Yes that is true. For a manual more mods would be required.
@@Miaxkashwhat type of mods?
@@sharki23 changing the entire wheel from what I have heard
@@Miaxkashmake sense because dsg has paddle shifter meanwhile manual dont have..
Would this work on a 2009 mk5 automatic jetta s?
I am only certain for my model since that is what I researched on
Do the control buttons have to be DSG specific or are they all standard?
They are standard.
do I need a new module 2:20 or can I use original one that’s already in, there mine is a dsg
Hi there when you buy the MFSW buttons they should come connected to a module already like mine did in the ebay photo. Swap out what you will find in your steering wheel and just replace with what comes with the buttons.
Cheers for that just wanted too make sure before I take anything apart and I only got the button with the cables no module
@@nabeel3777 Oh I see, you can try to swap them into the module not sure how though but best of luck!
Just done it and it’s a straight swap if you got dsg, you don’t need a new module, you just need the buttons
@@nabeel3777 Enjoy the buttons
Its work for manual transsmision 2005 gti golf?
For a manual golf you'd have to replace the entire steering wheel. This method only works with the DSG golf
Good job! Where can i find these button tabs?
I bought mine used on ebay
What else do you need to make the buttons work?
@@alvaroaugustomeridio Everything I did is in the video tutorial, there is nothing I added before or after
I’ve always heard you can’t fit the buttons to non mfsw wheels is that not the case on GTi/R32?
I did quite some research before trying this and as you can see I was successful, over two months down and all the buttons still work.
@@Miaxkash Thanks. Did you have to change anything else other than coding on your DSG?
@@nelsonr32 it was simply plug and play I didn't add any coding for this instance since the module already supported the mfsw buttons
@@Miaxkashwhat was the code for your original module ? You replaced the buttons and the module. But was your old module the same? Most buttons on the market come with no module.
@@liam8428 Sorry for the late reply as I see you actually were able to install the buttons from a later comment.
Hi mate, can you write please the part number? I mean buttons with module. Thanks alot
Sup man, I don't have the part number, what I did was search on ebay "golf mk5 gti steering wheel switches".
Where can I order the buttons?
I ordered mine from ebay UK. You can get them for about 40 pounds
Cam I do this to 2007 Golf S?
I believe so. Is yours the dsg model or manual . Make sure you have the correct steering control module that supports the buttons.
@@MiaxkashDo you know if I also have to replace the module under the steering wheel column with a new one?
@@stermeisterOG If you have VCDS you can check your steering wheel module part number and open the link in the description to see if its supported. In the start of the video I have shown how I checked mine.
Would u sell me the one u took off with no buttons plz
Sorry pal, I already gave them to a buddy of mine but I am sure you can get them on ebay
@@Miaxkash I been looking but can't find it
Hi,
I also installed it today on my ED30 pirelli DSG. Only it doesn't work🤷♂️
Obdeleven indicates that I have hardware 1K0953549BG.
This should work, right? I just haven't replaced the small module in the steering wheel itself. This has number 1P0959542
You have any idea?😅
Hi there,
According to the chart I linked, hardware 1K0953549BG should work. Didn't your buttons not come with their own module like in my demonstration?
@@Miaxkash Hi,
The buttons now work.
It was a matter of a small adjustment with VCDS.
Thanks for your message man👊
@@dimitrivandenhudding5777 Hi, glad they finally work. Enjoy them
@@dimitrivandenhudding5777what did you have to change on the codes? I’m thinking about doing this on my gti edition 30 dsg. This guy in the video says plug and play but think he just got lucky
@@liam8428 I only selected steering wheel controls because they were not turned on in vcds
