They will (most likely) have the babies when the barometric pressure changes. It kicks things off. My doc told me that when I was pregs with my son and yeah, he was right. Old time general practitioner and he was amazingly right on a lot of things. Said the hospital always filled up right before a storm or a weather change.
We always put surveying ribbon on new high tensile fence so wildlife can see it. Also, that’s a hornet’s nest. They are great to have around livestock. They catch and kill flies!
I smile when I see that there is a new video from Sow the Land! When I watch them I realize that Hope is Eternal and that God is Good all the time! I don’t know if you have two days Lorraine. That Elvira looks good to go. 😂🙏
Hi.... Jason and Loraine when ever I see you both are doing this homestead. I also want to start but I don't have money to do. I just only keep on prayer
Jason you are doing such a great job! You are a huge encouragement to me on my rebuild of my 5 acre homestead, man you will be able to look back in years from now at these videos and be glad you put in all this work! Thank you for sharing this journey with us!
Enjoyed the video and it's wonderful to see the family working together. Jason keep reminding yourself that this fence will eventually be finished. 🥰 Happy piggy watch. 🤗👍
Please be careful of those type holes. Many creatures can be in there. I ran over a hole like that with the lawnmower some years back and it was full of yellow jackets. Miraculously I did not get a single sting. I was very lucky.
I love being "out there" doing chores vicariously with Jason.. ❤as I sit by my wood stove. What a great world we live in. 😅 That being said.. I'm old and have put in my time... so not feeling too guilty. Thanks for bringing us along AND inspiring the youngsters. Don't get overwhelmed.. just take it one day at a time. You guys are doing great!
Loraine, I heard that squash bugs love Hubbard squash more than any other. So plant a bunch of Hubbard far away from your real garden. And see if they stay away.
Hello again.. Jason its good you have noticed the contact point of the hot wires on the H brace my suggestion is put the tube insulator on the diagonal wire tensioner so that every wire fence still hot and not insulated in that part/spot of the fence.
I actually just went to IG and shorts to see if there were piglets because it's a day after you posted this and Elvira looked about to POP! Fence is looking great - You all have made so much progress on that property.
Jason, on the cattle fence you really should think 🤔 about putting chicken wire, openings are very wide Spaces so animals won't come through. Block out transfer any type of small or large animals coming through.or Predators like those dogs in your area😮. We enjoy your videos🥰
WOW... already 20 H-braces! Your fence looks amazing.. I would love to have your skills and energy to fence off my place! Also as always I am a fan of anything that includes cute little piggy snorts :) What a life you lead! Thanks for sharing it all with us!!
Penelope must be looking forward tp homemade fries she was doing great with broad fork. If you run out of H post tensioners you could always join the ends together tying them to the bottom of post and use the handle of a cresent wrench to stich between the wires and start twisting wires together after about 25 twists there will be lots of tension and wire will be nicely twisted together. Great work all of you.
Your family is an inspiration to so many. You all really care about not only doing the job but doing it with excellence. Also I'm betting on a y moment for Elvira and the piglets.🎉 Thank you so much for taking us on this journey with you .
Your Yardstick, in the building world is called a "Story Pole". They are used in anything that is repetitious such as framing, masonry, fencing, wood lathe, etc. Thought you might want to know.
I know that high tension/tensel wire fences are cheaper BUT they aren't going to keep predators like those dogs that attacked your chickens out. They're just going to go around the fences to a section that's open and walk through.
Years ago, an elderly woodworker told me those were called "story sticks" or "story boards" because they told the story of what measurements you needed to follow.
I love ALL Sow the Land videos!
The videography is so good!
Jason, you are doing a Tremendous job All on your own and everything you do is awesome and we all agree we love the videos.
Jason saying "Excuse me." to the pigs always makes me smile.
Elvira looks ready to pop and she absolutely knows you are prepping her nursery area.

It's always nice to see a homesteading channel and family who does a good job and puts in some proper infrastructure. Keep up the good work guys.
Elvira following Jason like a puppy is just too cute!
Yup, the story stick is used many ways but very common with brick layers. It avoids math errors unless you mess up making the stick.
Those pigs are so beautiful. I'd never heard of them before. Just gorgeous.
I scroll. I see Jason. I click.
Hi, Jason! Your progress on the fence is amazing. Your patience and tenacity have paid off.
We always put surveying ribbon on new high tensile fence so wildlife can see it. Also, that’s a hornet’s nest. They are great to have around livestock. They catch and kill flies!

ELVIRA is soooo big. Her belly rubs on the ground. She was so cute running after her food bucket. ❤❤
LUV the fence Jason. Like you say, every day just a little bit more, eventually you’ll be done and moving on to the next project. Keep it up.
When you are all done, gonna have to write the book…what not to do when fencing your pasture. Best seller in the comedy genre.
I love seeing all the progress. And you seem in much better spirits, which makes me very happy. I just wish you had more help with that fence! ❤
I'm impressed with your determination to finish the fence, by yourself.
You are a great example of people working together. You can have a get life on the farm. Thank God for the farmer’s wife.
Enjoyed the video and it's wonderful to see the family working together. Jason keep reminding yourself that this fence will eventually be finished. 🥰 Happy piggy watch. 🤗👍

You and Elvira and Zeke have the best relationship to me. 👍🏽
I would love to see you buy some more property next to you so that you can get more animals and it would be good content
Elvira is like a huge dog as she follows you, Jason. Makes me smile❤
All at work. You've divided the tasks. It's so satisfying to watch the progress. Rest well this

Great video, that fence is a true labour of love!
Enjoyed spending the the day with y’all on the farm.
You're doing a great job. Hard workers make for awesome videos.
The fence is looking fine. U have a nice family.❤
You need to check the bees and see if they have room so they don't swarm on you and give them space if they need it.
Slow and steady wins the race🎉
That yardstick was ingenious! So simple and yet perfect.
your farm is really growing this year, and you got a tight looking fence ❤❤🙏🙏
Look at that Despardo out riding fences!
Busy busy busy. God bless.
Hang in there! You are really getting it done!

Afternoooon Jason
I think that fence will keep everything (except ,babies lol )
Fencing is coming along nicely!
Brick masons make whats called a "story pole", each side has the markings for different types of bricks. So story stick is great.
Learned about story sticks in a woodworking class…
A wonderful jig!
Punk rocker moves out of California to own acres and live life in the farm❤ awesomeness
I know that high tension/tensel wire fences are cheaper BUT they aren't going to keep predators like those dogs that attacked your chickens out. They're just going to go around the fences to a section that's open and walk through.
Making progress! Good job Jason.
Years ago, an elderly woodworker told me those were called "story sticks" or "story boards" because they told the story of what measurements you needed to follow.
Busy, busy time!
Amazing all the things you have learned to do since you started homesteading. You need to do a video of that!
A happy Homestead...😊
People say they have a face only a mother could love. I beg to differ. Those under bites are adorable.
Jason when you used the spiral insulator might be able to use a old garden hose cut open.
I’ve grown so many sweet potatoes in 6-15 gallon grow bags they’ve done awesome and so sweet after the Set time
Turn it on to keep the dogs out! 👍
The bees are happy💚 great job on your fence. You are going to be so happy when it’s done. What a huge accomplishment on the homestead!
Things are coming along nicely. The fence looks fantastic and I’m sure the gardens will fill quickly. So exciting.
It rained all night in Ms. last nighr.,lots of rain. Maybe we're getting out of drought problem.Praise God!.
