- Just more cheapness from Ford. I know its been this way for years in the F150 but dang Ford. If you're going to put a latch on the darn seat back then add the pull strap so you can easily unlatch and let it down. Thank you Builtright industries for making this rear seat latch.
Got some info from Builtright on the part. It was changed from anodized aluminum to a glass fiber reinforced composite. They did this to make it a tighter click in fit to the small release pin and keeps any rattling from happening.

Fantastic video. Thanks!
I have an XLT without the B&O sound system, so there's lots of room for my junk.
Glad the video could help you out!
Does anyone know the thickness of the small bracket part of the release kit, the thickness of the keyhole inside the bracket, and the width of the keyhole's limiting section?
What are the dimensions of the square-headed pin cap and its shaft diameter for the latch on the new F-150? Will they fit accurately together?
Am I the only person that has problems with the seat back latching?
The first time I latched mine back, it seems like it took a lot of force, and it does take much more force than the other side.
I know if you move a little bar latches too before you latch the seat back the latch won’t be lined up correctly to latch.
A lot of use of the word latch in there, but I hope you get what I’m saying
