  • India is the second largest producer of fruits and vegetables. Processing of fruits and vegetables produces solid waste in from of Peels, Pomace and seeds, which contribute to increase in carbon footprint. On the other hand Peels, Pomace and seeds are rich source of bioactive compounds having antioxidant and antimicrobial ability. Thus, harnessing Wealth (bioactive compounds) from Fruits and vegetable waste has potential to contribute to a circular economy, reduce waste, and promote sustainable practices across Health sector. We propose Sustainable solution for value-addition of waste peels by recovering Antioxidants/dietary fibres with potential application in nutraceutical, cosmetic, & bakery as this can be a Natural alternative to synthetic antioxidants, which are carcinogenic. This will add value to the waste and help in reducing environmental pollution by utilizing waste. Natural antioxidants is expected to have a Total Addressable Market of INR 107.241 billion in coming five years.
