you think it'll be worth remembering?.. I guess if something protein/ enzyme related comes up, you can use it, which is very likely because proteins are everywhere
Thanks for watching. The title for this essay was ‘the importance of control of movement in cells and organisms’. It was the question that appeared last year. I requested the student script back from aqa as I could see that she had scored full marks. So this is 25/25 awarded from the exam board not me. I would do one essay a week. You will get quicker with them as your revision will help pull facts together quicker. The structure is the most important thing. I will add some more examples over the coming days. As for content beyond the specification pick something on proteins as we can lever this into most essays. Hope that helps, thanks for commenting.
My teacher said that in each essay, paragraphs have to link to one another, is this true? And what would you do for an essay that talks about the role of something?
Hi just to clarify that paragraphs do not need to be linked to each other. It is poorly worded in the mark scheme. When it says linked it means to the title. As you can see in this essay that got 25/25 from aqa (not my marking) these paragraphs are not linked.
Hi, thank you so much for the video! My teacher has given us synoptic essays to do as homework but she hasn't given us any guidance before so this was so helpful as I've been struggling on how I should structure my essays. I also just wanted to ask how you would suggest getting topics outside of the specification to include in the essay. Other than "extra reading", I don't know what to look at. Would looking at topics from the old specification be a good idea like in the video?
Excellent video thank you. As a teacher, if my students are writing a paragraph about topic 2A - cell structure and division and then a different paragraph about topic 2C HIV replication (for say a protein importance essay). Am I right in assuming that they are part of the same topic (topic 2)?? Thanks
A T your paragraphs don’t need to be linked to each other. I thought this the first year but went to a conference with AQA and they clarified that point. These paragraphs are not linked and aqa have this essay 25/25. I requested the transcript and typed it up and that’s what I am sharing. Show the video to your teacher.
Hi miss. I want to start practising essays beginning middle March ish. How many essays would you recommend I do a week? What was the actual essay title for this example? Was it an official question ie on a past exam paper? And how would you approach the ‘extra reading’ part at this time of year...would you recommend I do this alongside revision for mocks? Thanks so much I’ve just discovered your channel and I’m so glad I did 😊
That first paragraph is top tier and I am going to try replicate something similar to that on Wednesday
