  • In this renovation episode, we make a DIY concrete countertop & sink for the master bathroom remodel. Thanks again to Noom! Click noom.com/modustrialmaker to take your free Noom Evaluation.
    This DIY concrete ramp sink is the last major project for the master bathroom renovation (just waiting on some cabinet hardware to put the finishing touches on and do the full reveal). The sink is fabricated from GFRC concrete, as usual, but this one is a little bit extra - probably my favorite concrete sink build ever. I designed the sink in Fusion 360, and then used my Avid CNC to 3D carve the foam sink mold. I coated the foam sink mold in drywall mud (which acts as a barrier between foam and epoxy resin) and then coated the mold with epoxy resin to waterproof it and give a smooth surface to it. I sprayed the face or beauty coat of GFRC concrete into the form, and then hand packed the back coat of concrete. We end the video with the installation of the sink in the master bathroom, on top of the vanity that I build in the last video.
    NEXT UP: In the next episode, we’ll be doing a 24-hour bathroom renovation challenge….the last major project I have to do before wrapping up the building!

      Exactly my thoughts! Looks great, but not wide enough and it'll end up making a mess on the counters, which will be hard to clean because the stuff on the counters is in the way. Oh well.

      @@modustrial during the CNC milling of the sink master, the boundary between the 2 layers of pink XPS looked... strange. Was the glue a polyurethane glue? I saw on another channel (@Luke Towan) that it is expansive; it requires weight to be applied so the two layers being glued don't get pushed apart. Is that what happened here?

  • @Blaizeria
    @Blaizeria Год назад +88

    Looks good my only concern when I saw it going in is that there may be a lot of water spillage if the water pressure is too high on the taps on the sink.

    Nice.. I'll give you a tip that I learned, by trial & mostly error when I started making things with concrete.. After it is done, make sure it is a rough surface, mix up some fiberglass & resin and give about a 1/4 to 3/8 thick on it.. It will make the piece much stronger and if it does crack some, it will still hold.. I do mean putting it on the underside of it.. No one will ever see it, but it's an extra bit to just make it stronger.. I found using this trick I can go much thinner on the concrete.. I loved this episode.. Also, since you definitely have the talent, why not make more of those sinks in other colors, I am positive you would sell everyone you can make.. Lots of people who watch your channel would buy one of your creations in a heartbeat.. Well I rattled on enough. Thank you for sharing... GOD Bless... 😎😎😎
