I might sand rounded corner edges for easier cleaning if I do this. And maybe let the MDF soak in water for weeks if you have time, then pressure wash soaked MDF out
Add a 5 degree draft on the “core” so it pulls out. It also helps to use either an oil based enamel or lacquer on all surfaces. Then apply a mixture of 1/2 Murphy’s oil soap 1/2 water over all surfaces that will come in contact with concrete. Let dry, then pour. Acts as a mold release and you can use the forms multiple times.
Did you seal the concrete with anything? Concrete is generally porous and will absorb water. Looks good, a lot of creative things can be done with this.
Screw handles inside the basin form on either side of the drain. Makes removal much easier than chiseling it out.
also making the drain punchout from foamboard.

This is awesome- thank you! Got my weekend project marching orders
This is the exact video I was looking to find- thank you!

Do you just use regular concrete sealer? How does it retain water if need be? Will it eventually leak?
One of the best job i hve seen
Idk about it only costing $18 but I definitely want to build this as a fountain base. Thanks for showing us how you did this. ❤
Thanks!
Hi. I have a question ! What did u use at the end for water protection and what should i use to cement sink with pouder pigment to protect?
Nice work, thanks for the music video.
Just a slight draft angle on the side pieces and you might be able to pull the whole piece out without any chiselling.
Yes, I just commented this! A 5 degree draft is standard for mold making. Cheers!
Nice job, keep goin!
That was a great tutorial. I’m thinking of doing one for my self and I’m wondering would mdf work as a mold for one 50*36*10*2 what do you think?
Wow that is cool!
Nicely done.

I used epoxy resin.
@@greyelementprojects7403 which product did You use?
So nice!
Can you please link the siphonkit ? Amazon? 😊
I see in your list that you bought those fibers but I didn't see you dump them in the concrete?
Can I add dye to the mix or can it lead to some problems
Any ideas how you could mold a rough looking concrete finish when dry as opposed to a dead Smooth finish ?
oh my!!! I think I am doing it :). I wonder what weight it is. Thx for Video!
WoW!
I would think a release agent sprayed on the mold would have helped with the removal
Isn't that what he wiped on at 4:30? Maybe I'm not sure what that was...
You can just use any oil
No it would not release as it had straight vertical sides.
@@henryfehr6202 a release agent simply helps prevent from sticking. What is it with straight sides tgat would trap
gooooddd job
I love it
What sanding grit did you use?
Put some stained glass inn it and sand it down… and it would look beautiful
amazing he managed to miss out the sink hole fitting part link? dumb much?
18$ no costó
$18 dollars assuming you have all the tools already in your garage.
😵💫
Lmao ikr. He have all that $2000 worth of equipments to built it
You need a circular saw (50 off FB marketplace) and a hammer…
Yeah as it's not a quality mix. The mixes used to set fence post don't have the same strength as proper countertop mixes.
this is a stupid way to make a concrete sink
It is a stupid comment too...
@@greyelementprojects7403 im just saying you dont know what you are doing.
@@SigmaGuns And who cares what you think?
