Also incredibly grateful to Dr Sledge for laying all these in-depth insights on us 🙌 and to those able to subscribe on patreon, for making content like the Agrippa lectures possible and accessible to the rest of us. It's been really eye-opening so far, am awaiting future episodes with great anticipation. Many thanks to you, Dr. Sledge, and to all your patrons!

I am so glad to hear (again!) that you'll be doing a Marguerite Porete episode! I have been studying and admiring her and her work for over 30 years now, ever since I first read about her in an anthology of medieval women's literature. I have not studied her text in the original Old French (or the Latin and Middle English or other late medieval translations of it), but I have wrestled with it in an extended manner on several occasions, and still find new things about which to be excited every time I do study it! It's one of the few truly mystagogic texts, in my opinion, if it is approached correctly...though one's results can certainly vary widely as to its effectiveness. But I will be happy to see your episode on her when you get to it!😊

Doctor Justin Sledge of Esoterica, would it not be fair and appropriate to respectfully continue calling the Egyptian Book of Coming Forth by Day as the colloquially generally popularly known Book of the Dead, 1:19:00 seeing as the Ancient Egyptian beliefs of the afterlife hold death to be very dear and sacred, especially for kings and pharaohs, essentially god-kings, and their ideas about resurrection and the afterlife, and without the westernized common modern often negative CONNOTATION today of death and the dead? What news folks nowadays SHOULD be pausing on is at least give known people and their loved ones or just people in general a modicum of grace, with the definitive "has died" (that delivery factually doesn't veer into evasive side language of "passing") instead of, yep, "so n so famous person DEAD at age 51 or so" making it like they're some infamous dangerous mobster fugitive, like Whitey Bulger, or attending an enemy's funeral to make SURE they're actually dead, NO due respect whatsoever. I think the popular and INTRIGUING moniker, Egyptian Book of the Dead, invites and elucidates on the further thinking of death, beyond death, the afterlife, immortality and resurrection, of a kind. the definiteness of physical death in this realm being indisputable in even the most magical mythical mystical milieus. Same with the Tibetan Book of the Dead, the Book of In-Between Worlds. I think it's healthy and fascinating and inspiring of the imagination and dissuading of knee-jerk nihilism. Speaking of, and as much as reading Nietzsche as a younger man (I know you like to point out, but the sooner the better, and how often do the youth dive into philosophy? To at least know which rules to break) for STARTERS, or a less-pressured first date at a cheesecake factory chain restaurant. Or why NOT jean jacket AND jeans? (yes, I realize a bit much and maybe not everybody can pull off unless you're Bono of U2? or like blue eyeshadow? or adverbs used by best-selling novelists who know when to break the rules and why their usage is the exception and not the norm? I said enthusiastically). Death, being the great equalizer, common denominator and a shared door into the Great Unknown. Maybe Death can be its own Esoterica topic, much like Sheol and the Angel of Death were! In that spirit, death should not be dreaded in that light nor should the greater context be ignored as to its dignity in its way. A dignity not afforded to mythical vampires, cartoon mummies and zombies. It's not like it's called The Book of the UNDEAD...

Throughout history the many, many brave men and women who pursued knowledge and paid with their lives and worse and to think we do not even pay homage to them..
It's disgraceful, there absolutely needs to be a world wide day of celebration and remembrance for every trail blazer in the war against dogma and ignorance..
Dr Sledge carries on this Nobel cause bringing light into the darkness of ignorance and manipulation..
Not sure why I wrote this comment here but I say write it everywhere!
We must remember those that educated the masses from the clutches of ignorance!
    What say you all.?
    💪💯👍👌🙏✌️
