This level took me 6 hours yes you heard that right 6 hours! Getting lost and confused. I came here to vent frustration i walked 20km according to the end level statistics 😂
I'm playing through all the tomb raiders for the first time and loved the first 2 games but this game is the worst one I've played so far and hope the 4th one is better

This level is exhaustingly dark. Only the real chads can complete this level finding all secrets, not running out of flares and NOT increasing gamma. You've done it - report in reply comment, I salute to you.
I love classic TR games but TR III has some of the worst level designs of all those games. How the hell are you supposed to outmaneuver that drill thing that comes down from the ceiling? You have to KNOW exactly what to do so it's trial and error. HOW THE HELL are you supposed to know that you can interact with that ONE SPECIFIC ticket machine? Why is that door puzzle labyrinth thing there? It's not fun or anything... it just wastes your time and seems really out of place.
Yeah... There should be a sign "buy ticket here" or something. I spent literally 2 hours wandering around with coin, and I even checked all these machines twice, probably not pressed action button in the right moment, so I didn't interact with it. Thanks God for the RUclips.
You just said ir yourself, trial and error. Once you know, you know. The game is full of secrets and hard parts, they're designed this way. They also get rid of people who arent tough enough. Sue me. -Jill
I am trying to play all the tomb raider games in a row without cheating since I always did as a child, but sadly I had to come here to figure out where to put the stupid mallet and star. I would have not guessed that I had to interact with the middle of the doors.. I kept interacting with the right side of them. Took me an hour and a half! I was so close to not cheating, but alas, I am here. Sniffle. This map is literally the worst. I am glad I am not the only one who struggled though.

Don't feel bad! Even as a kid, I had access to my older brothers super old (new at the time) PC with limited internet access. Way before GameFAQS, Cheatworld guides helped me get through The City, which is the dark level before this. It was way too dark to see on PlayStation, so I used those guides and all my matches to get through it. I also used a physical guidebook for TR2 on levels in the water, because I was afraid of sharks as a kid. Some levels are designed to be so unique that you can't tell objects are interactable. For games like this, it's not "cheating". Otherwise they'd call them cheat books. You still have to fit the puzzle together, it's just guiding you to the pieces. BTW: The Remasters are out now, I hope you got to fill that part of you that wanted to complete the originals in their original form. Now you get to do it all again in glorious Hi-Rresolution textures.......and play the EXPANSIONS of course!

You have to buy a ticket with a penny you will find in front of a vending machine. Buy the ticket in one of the boxes at the entrance at 0:40 20 years ago i never completed this level 🤔

This level is fu*king terrible. I started playing old Tomb Raiders. Finished TR1, TR2 (all by myself), but here in TR3 I had to use RUclips. It's freaking insane. At first I got stuck with one Solomon's key (from the vault) and couldn't locate second one. Then I found a penny and got stuck again, I was walking for 1.5h looking for the ticket - I checked the internet. I wonder how many people gave up on this level. I never had any trouble with other levels.
Kinda sad that at least with this level they couldn't seem to strike a balance between the PS1's atmospheric lighting (impossible darkness) and the visibility of the PC version.
I had such a hard time with this level as a kid and as an adult I managed okay, but would have spent another hour to realize I needed a maintenance key from near the beginning of the game. Smh
I mean this level is crazy freakin difficult. First of all I went to the other station and realized I needed the keys to open that door after that bloody labyrinth, and I gave up and restarted. I wonder how humanly possible is it to find everything without cheating. Insanity!
Ehh, it's definitely not the worst level ever... It's certainly creepy and atmospheric. And it's not the worst thing ever, difficulty wise as well. Just go down both the escalators, run around and draw a basic mental map of the place in your head. Then it's not that big of a deal.
I missed that switch at 14:06 because I'm playing the remastered and its so dark. Instead I ran forward and fell down the trap hole and I am now softlocked because I can't get back up there. Softlocking needs to be taken out of games. When you remaster get rid of soft locking!!!!!!!!!!!!1

What makes me crazy from Temple of Xian is that f corridor where you have to press 2 buttons in order to open one door and keep the other from the floor close... if you don't do it correctly, you fall in the lava pit.😢
But one thing I will say that does make me Very happy is that Aspyr is Constantly making Small Adjustments to the the game like patch notes which is really A BIG PLUS 😃😃😃
Every time I try and take on a level without a guide or walkthrough, I end up getting stuck, and when I watch the walkthrough, I see I've gone the wrong way first... 😂
I honestly do see what they were trying to do with this level; unlike many of the other locations, a Tube station is very much a contained space so I guess you'd realistically have to go over the same spots again and again. That said, I got so bloody sick of having to climb those crates. Like, six times? Seven times? REALLY?
Made it all the way to this level without using a walkthrough but had to. No fucking way I'd ever have figured out where the stupid penny went or that you could interact with the door that had the lock/chain. Or that you had to backtrack a THIRD time to the red room to access the area above the drill for the solomon key. Also the little water room right before the hallway where you use the ticket.. what kind of weird ass level design is that? That being said... love the London levels so far. Its like an aggravating fever dream.
I used to think I played all the TR games and beat them all. Since the remastered release I realized that when I was playing this at age 7 there’s no way in hell I made it past Thames. Now here I am at 32 playing the same game, “cheating” on RUclips.
Just finished a first playthrough of the first 3 games via the remaster, here are my results TR1: Solved all puzzles myself TR2: Solved all puzzles myself TR3: Had to tap out twice, once on this level and once on the one before. Tap out 1: A bit of a fail on my part, it is toward the end of the level where you have to hang off the ceiling, after you hit a switch to open the base of the tank that leads to the church interior. I had not done the home section so I did not know Lara could do that. I thought taht you had to do a reverse flip jump at a wierd angle and hit the bullseye by landing in the open sewer grate... I did it too after a lot of attempts but it just leaves you stuck in a church with a water level too low to get out... a soft lock if you will!! Tap out 2: This one was a little frustrating. I spent about 2 hours and had got almost to the end of the mission I had the coin and knew it needed to go in the ticket machine somehow, however the side of the machine that has the label of 1d does not work and you have to go to the other side of it which has a label of 2d I guess this was just an oversight on the part of the developers, but it was annoying to know exactly what needed to be done but not be able to interact with the game mechanics to get it done. I got the thing behind the curtain myself though, I checked the hole and the camera clipped behind the curtain, so I guess my luck cancelled out on this level. Great games would reccomend them heavily!!
Why is it that in the new tomb raider Remaster Aspyr Made it so that you have to go the same route to get the M5 Assault Rifle you can’t go for instance on the other side and grab on to the ledge because there is no Option for you to grab even though on the side you can Grab on the Ledge WTF ??? ASPYR the Physics don’t make any SENSE
Crazy that even after following this walk through, I STILL had to use the level skip cheat. Not sure why I continue to torture myself trying to get through this game. By far the worst of the entire series by a mile!
Why after Nevada this game just goes downhill? Another bullcrap level, I really didn't enjoy the game that much after Nevada. They left us with only the terrible levels. I hope good days in Antartica levels, I'm done with London just by the two first levels.

Jesus, this is the point in the Tomb Raider 3 remaster that I started to dislike the game. This level was way too fucking dark, confusing, the nonsense with the coin and finding the right ticket booth apart from other booths which look like background objects, was just terrible game design imo. How were you supposed to know that you could interact with those, let alone that specific booth? This level just pulled pissed me off, a level next to Lud's gate I never want to play again.

This is the worst tomb raider level in my opinion, I've finished it several times before and I always dread playing it. Too much of the areas look the same, it's dark, too much backtracking. Overall, just bad level design.
It has some of the worst level design in the series, but it makes up for it with some of the most interesting locations, variety, and ideas. Antarctica is basically John Carpenter’s The Thing, and the mercenaries/dinosaur section in South Pacific is so damn good. That said, this game is so damn exhausting and frustrating at times haha.

The way you all feel about this level is how I feel about Temple of Xian. I’ve completed that level more than once, but man it’s hard.

I literally beat this level by accident.
Jesus, this is the point in the Tomb Raider 3 remaster that I started to dislike the game. This level was way too fucking dark, confusing, the nonsense with the coin and finding the right ticket booth apart from other booths which look like background objects, was just terrible game design imo. How were you supposed to know that you could interact with those, let alone that specific booth? This level just pulled pissed me off, a level next to Lud's gate I never want to play again.

It’s annoying because it’s almost like Aspyr Makes you play the way the old version of the game was made and it’s very frustrating and time consuming one of the most annoying games I’ve ever played do I love absolutely do I wish it was made by another company 100 percent
This is the worst tomb raider level in my opinion, I've finished it several times before and I always dread playing it. Too much of the areas look the same, it's dark, too much backtracking. Overall, just bad level design.
Just a garbage level, some good levels on TR3 where it’s straight forward but this is just pure luck, London has been crap so far
worst level, i just give up on tr3 this game is the worst of the series
It has some of the worst level design in the series, but it makes up for it with some of the most interesting locations, variety, and ideas. Antarctica is basically John Carpenter’s The Thing, and the mercenaries/dinosaur section in South Pacific is so damn good. That said, this game is so damn exhausting and frustrating at times haha.
