    Have you considered writing a book on the Grid?
    Namely, a comprehensive deep-dive of each module: how it works (DSP functions), and some examples of common and uncommon uses.
    And maybe a cookbook section?
    Would seriously buy.

    This is a great addition, a while ago I played around with making a dome filter out of all pass filters but this is much better.

  • @ZeusFabien

    Cool! Yeah, I made to research different allpass chains for a good IIR phase splitter to build a freq shifter. Looks like they added some Cartesian to polar conversions in there as well. Theirs is probably much better than mine, but it’s interesting how you built a filterbank off analytic functions. It’s not *exactly* FFT but it’s getting very close in overlapping concept.
    Anyway, really cool patch. Bitwig’s crazy. Kudos on good work! ❤️

    I'm still a total noob at the grid, (as the things i wanted to create there for live-audio found a nice workaround outside of the grid), but if i'll ever dive into it, i'll binge watch the thousand hours available here to learn :D

    How are they recreating a full spectrum signal with just one phase into one sine wave with magnitude coefficient? Wouldn't they need to generate a phase and magnatude for like a whole bunch of frequency bins or something?

      Name something it doesn't already have that is not niche or powerful? The Grid has been extremely powerful since it was released and only getting better with each module they have added over the years.

  • @GeorgeLocke
    @GeorgeLocke 28 дней назад

    Since the filters don't go below 20 Hz, you could use Follower or Follower-RF, right? You might want to add a regular filter after the Follower, as slew limiting won't remove audio completely.

    • @PolarityMusic
      @PolarityMusic  28 дней назад +1

      someone mentioned, you can use the pitch input of the filters which allows you to go lower

    • @GeorgeLocke
      @GeorgeLocke 28 дней назад

      @PolarityMusic i haven't tried it yet myself, but Follower outputs a positive only signal, so I can't say for sure that it would work in this application. It's odd that the grid doesn't have a straight up slew limiter, especially given that it's kind of a basic building block for hardware modular.

  • @travisbasso6496
    @travisbasso6496 28 дней назад

    wow fascinating!! Could you use the FFT approach to try and tame resonance peaks? Detect frequencies exceeding a set threshold and then attenuate. Or is the filtering too sharp to be useable that way?

    • @PolarityMusic
      @PolarityMusic  28 дней назад +2

      In theory, yes! But as I mentioned in the video, you’d need to generate a lot more bins to properly monitor a sufficient range of frequencies. I don’t think duplicating the patch to achieve that is very effective. It’s better to use the Loud Split device instead-it’s native and optimized for this kind of task. ruclips.net/video/NY9toXI-8nE/видео.html
