Sam Beam, just one of the greatest singer-songwriters ever, and that final performance of Flightless Bird, excruciatingly beautiful.
painful how good it is
+Peggy Parker did i see the interviewer welling up? methinks so
There are a lot of interviews with this guy but this is the best one I have heard. He is made to feel welcome / comfortable and not rushed. Great video thanks.
The flip-flops are a very nice touch.
That version of Flightless Bird is an absolute gem!
Great interviewer and interviewee!
By far the best interview of Sam Beam. Thank you, Laura!
thoughtful questions, thoughtful answers. and the rendition of flightless bird at the end could have brought anyone to tears (of joy)

Thank you Sam, for such good songs.
Thanks from Turkey :)
Sam is one of those artists whose live performances tend to be better than his studio versions
Came for the beard stayed for the music!
Came for the music stayed for the beard...

omg i saw this show
How was it??
Gotta love that flip flops.
This interviewer just does it right.
11:26 Naked As We Came
Mr. Relaxed.
The guy is like the Bob Ross of Americana
female ron bennington right there
if you don't cry at flightless bird then give up
from the neck up he is a burly mountain man but from the neck down he is just a normal skinny guy
Every time Sam performs "Flightless Bird" I feel conflicted: It is beautifully intimate and raw, but the harmonies are not quite there like they are with the guitar + vocal work.
I guess live perfection can be very boring as well, so I stick with his live performances anytime as they show the real guy
haha
=)
