I'm attempting to replicate Roger's approach of hybrid picking with metal finger picks, but it is really tricky to do!
Guitar is a Rickenbacker 620/12 from the early 1980's, fitted with 'Rickenbacker' compressed roundwound strings. I'm using a JangleBox Nano compressor. - Видеоклипы
There’s more than the usual nod from Johnny Marr in Everybody’s been burned, just slower. Definitely the next song on the to learn list
Didn't expect a Byrds video, but here's more content to learn! Thank you!
Adam, Good Morning ! Thanks, André Tavares - Rio de Janeiro / Brazil
Thanks for including Everybody's Been Burned to me it's probably my favourite Byrd's track (if I ever had to name a single one)
Yeah, definitely up there for me too. Younger Than Yesterday and Notorius Byrd Brothers both contain some great sonic moments
@@HeadlessGuitarPlayer despite the slightly duff bits I would put 5th Dimension up with those two.
I'm also very fond of Untitled (Lover of the Bayou and Chestnut Mare) and despite the enthusiasm being gone 1973 has some great moments
A lot of great riffs for Roger. Lately I’ve been interested in the “John Reilly” sound. Individually on the 12, it’s quite catchy.
fantastic my friend, your guitar playing is amazing
That was good to watch and listen. Well done.
Have you seen Roger in concert ?
Fantastic stuff as always! From a guitarists point of view, where would you recommend starting with The Byrds?
Most players I see don’t do the hybrid picking with fingerpicks. But you can’t really do The Byrds authentically without it. If trying that technique then there is worse places to start than Mr Tambourine Man tbh
Gary Jacob's channel is a great place to pick up some helpful tips for learning the Mcguinn banjo roll method.
Ironically, mcguinn used a Roland JC120 with a compressor in the 70s and 80s. It sounds great on any variant of a VOX AC series or Fender twin/deluxe reverb too. I might have to get a Roland JC22 paired with the janglebox just to try the sound on the solid state Roland. Played around with “my back pages” on an inexpensive peavey, and even that sounded good(not perfect) with modeled chorus and compression.
