For everyone’s information, the extended track limits were allowed for all drivers as it more accurately depicts the style of mid speed flowing apex corner and 90 degree corners seen on the street circuits which FE race on. These extended track limits are not allowed on all of the corners, just some of the mid and high speed. I hope this clears up the confusion.
I was asking myself why they where doing this, thanks! Btw, when the season starts? I'm hoping to see all the season this year, and not only a few races because I love Formula E but I always forget when they start :(
Please please please race on tracks on these In th actual season. Short street circuits. Maybe 3/4 circuits Street and 1/4 permanent circuits to start of with.
The interest in formula E racing still isn't high enough yet. Currently they still have to take the race to the people by doing populated street areas, instead of people going to a track to watch it.
Driver's meeting for pre season testing. FIA: So this is a permanent race circuit witch means there are no walls on the out side of the track. As you are all professional race drivers we trust you know what track limits are? Drivers: No walls? 😵Track limits? 😵 Never heard of such a thing.
Love it how FE gets constant criticism for the sound of the cars but they still know better than to put music over onboard footage Come to think of it, I hope they consider adding some kind of low pass filter for onboards if the pitch of the cars gets much higher in the coming seasons. I know not everyone can hear very high frequencies but some of the clips in this video were on the verge of hurting my ears.
I feel like it would be nice if it was standard if all halo's had the drivers name on them, for the sake of understanding whats going on in the heat of battle. Also: where's my beloved nose cam?
Most of the teams do that, even some of them who uusually do that did not bother here. The footage seems to be from the first day of testing as Jaguar for example added those stickers later in the week while the footage shown here only shows the Panasonic logo on the halo. But I do agree this should be mandatory across all series.
I like this championship because, compared with F1, the cars and drivers go to the limit, allways, one moment of distraction and you crash or somebody pass you, the battles in the circuit never ends.
In urban planning they have these things called desire paths, which are the paths that people wear into grassy areas when they would rather shave off a few seconds from a walk than stick to the set footpaths. Here we're seeing the motor racing equivalent of that, where drivers are trying to get around the track as quickly as possible and using as much of the considerable runoff as they can. They are creating their own desire paths.
FE needs REAL racetracks! It´s already known to a great number of spectators, that it´s exciting top-tier racing with a low predictability and high quality. You don´t need to stick it under the nose of the public anymore. I´m a convert (though I still watch F1 too), but the only thing I miss is this: REAL racetracks with "soul". There isn´t a single track in the calendar I like (maybe Monaco, but that´s thanks to it´s heritage). Please consider at least few!!!
Very surprised at how balanced these cars seem to be! It's hard to tell on street circuits, but you can easily see the drivers holding the car right on the edge of oversteer going into some of the long corners on this track.
To keep the speed up, the higher the speed the better the lap time is. If you make the corner wider (by going on the runoff area on the outside) you can carry more speed through the corner
@@Marnick1999 you gain an unfair advantage because of that (similar to cutting a corner) just like running wide in monza (second last turn before the long straight?). In F1 it would be forbidden but this isn't real racing so I guess it's fine?
These fE cars seem to have a really loose rear end, but the car is not uncontrollable when it overseers, you can catch the rear end well. This must make them a blast to drive.
I prefer the sound of the previous Season 5 car of the Panasonic Jaguar. It is the most unique sounding car of the season. In this season, i feel that Panasonic had done some changes on the Powertrain that is why the sound has changed.
DS sounds quite deep for FE standards (at slower speeds). Jaguar is as high pitched as ever. BMW is either super quiet or the mics are placed horribly.

yes better explain this for the F1 noob people that come in here. 👍🏻
I still think regardless, a track is a track. Race within the limits?
but why is it like this

Gen2 Fe car: back end steps out on entry, apex, and exit
I'm a bit sad today, but an upload from the F1 channel and the FE channel cheered me up!
Good clip. It's interesting to watch all the steering inputs as they go through turns and stuff. Some fast flicks!

Apex_WhiteOut they gave the drivers extended track sections since it simulates the mid flowing apexes in street circuits
Better! Those machines needs open circuits to run... definitvely better.. no more walls
the recharging mechanism not working at the open circuit
If you want to see 20 minutes racing then ok i guess
@@Pal42_ i am sure the recharging technology will be developed soon

Very strict on track limits, I think they should be a bit more lenient
Going over the white run off area looks so COOL!
Low key, I'd love to see no track limits racing, just a gravel pit on the inside of corners!
Exactly it would make for great overtakes
exactly what NASCAR does on road courses as far as i know. only track limits are walls, grass, and suspension-smashing curbs

Sorry, we just Run in streets circuits, If I can't see a wall that means there is no track limits
Let them enjoy the rare chance of blasting through the corners at full speed.
In my opinion there could be more circuits like Valencia in the formula e calendar. There would be more action, as we saw in Mexico

Track limits off
It’d be really interesting to see them racing in actual full blown racing tracks. This looks fascinating.
The Jaguar was, still is and will be the best looking car of FE.
How crazy would it be if a couple of races a year Formula E and Formula 1 shared the track on a weekend instead of supercup.
