  • This video shows how to use NFPA LiNK® to quickly find electric vehicle charger installation requirements using NFPA 70Ⓡ, National Electrical CodeⓇ (NECⓇ), 2023 edition.
NFPA LiNK is your window to productivity, providing instant digital access to NFPA codes and standards to support the way you and your team work best.
Learn to help your business become more efficient and effective with capabilities for seamless search, personalization, and shared knowledge.
As electrical vehicle (EV) use continues to rapidly expand in both private and public locations, these requirements help to ensure a safe installation, thereby improving safety for the end-user.
From your personalized NFPA LiNK dashboard, open the 2023 edition of the NEC. Find Chapter 6 in the table of contents and click on Article 625, Electric Vehicle Power Transfer Systems. Use the side navigation to open Part III, Installation.
NFPA LiNK clearly marks all new changes to this edition with “N” icons. When another code or section is referenced, simply click on it. There’s no need to flip through endless pages or lose your place hunting down additional key information.
To find load calculation information, use the side navigation and open Chapter 2, Article 220, Section 220.57, for electrical vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) load requirements. This section helps to maximize flexibility and reduce guesswork while keeping project scope and timelines on track.
