High school rivalry reaches new heights in the national tour of "Bring It On: The Musical," the new stage production by Lin-Manuel Miranda ("In the Heights"), Tom Kitt ("Next to Normal," "High Fidelity"), Amanda Green ("High Fidelity") and Jeff Whitty ("Avenue Q"). The high-energy musical set within the world of competitive cheerleading launched its national tour Oct. 30, 2011 in Los Angeles, following a world premiere run earlier in the year at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta.

this is so different from the actual broadway piece. like “Let’s Take This Mess To Nationals” is changed to “We’re Not Done” which is so much better. and “Might As Well Enjoy The Trip” is just “Enjoy The Trip.” And finally “It’s Right In Front Of You” was just changed to “What I Was Born To Do (Reprise)” which is good but i wish there was more lyrics in the beginning and then it leads up to eva belting before they perform at cheer camp.
yeah I didn't see the tour but there were clearly changes made from these clips.

As a former cheerleader, I am so impressed!! I really appreciated the choreo, stunting, and tumbling I really really hope this musical gave/gives cheer some respect for how hardcore the sport is. Though the stunts they perform in the show are-very understandably-easier than the ones you’d perform on a high school cheer team these days (bc the sport is always allowing more difficult and dangerous skills to be allowed) and the tumbling was a bit more “dance-y” than the tight style preferred in gymnastics and cheer, 10/10 to everyone involved in melding cheer and musical theatre together!! 👏 And STANDING OVATION for everyone’s breath support! 👏👏👏 Hope I get to see this show live one day 😊
The actual show looks so much better than when they performed at the Tonys. Like honestly this looks amazing!!! But at the Tonys it was so lame.
They didn't even perform all of its all happening at the Tonys which sucked too. I wanted them to more of it

They hadn't done the show in six months at the time of the Tonys because the show closed in December, so I'd say what they did was pretty good

It's interesting that this is quite different from the finishing product. It's cool to think that even on Broadway the original cast has to adapt so much before the final product.

Don't know if anyone else hears the similarities, but I am NOT COMPLAINING! These are some of my favourite musicals blended together, it's great!

Yes I realize there aren't going to always be similarities but you obviously felt the similarities in these two songs because they were both written by Miranda I realize it doesn't sound like over half his work but I was just pointing out the fact that they were both his works so there are going to be some reused thing I just don't understand why you got so defensive
Doing the broadway version for my school musical… and may I say just how much SUPPORT these vocals require. It’s a draining musical, but I love it!

I have a feeling that this musical will be overlooked by may while on its broadway run, but as soon as MTI releases it, it will be a big hit with theaters all over. Basically like Legally Blonde is now!
I'm going to see this soon, I had my doubts about it but I can never judge too heavily without seeing a show of course! I hope it's amazing, I'm really excited.

i saw it on broadway a little under a week ago and it was surprisingly so great!! it's absolutely hilarious and every character is really interesting. I'm really happy that they didn't go with the original story. it was a lot more original that way. the stunts are A-MA-ZING and everyone in the cast was so talented! it's definitely worth every penny I spent!! they could've gone in a lot of horrible directions with this, but they did a great job. :)
So it says the song with Campbell singing in the red cheer uniform is "It's Right In Front of You" but I can't find that anywhere online. Is that song called something else?

This musical. This musical is SENSATIONAL.
@stephh1991 Its not auto tuned. Its the track the team dances to but they jump into song later in the routine. There is actually a line in the play to clarify it so you know thats how it was supposed to be.

I saw this yesterday on Broadway and I was really skeptical at first. The first 4-5 songs were meh at best. But half way through the show loosened up, knew that it was supposed to be a fun show, and it had some amazing stunts. I recommend it to anyone who likes cheerleading, fun jabs at high school stories, new broadway shows with unknown stories, etc.
It didn't follow the movie so it was a nice surprise.
The first song is called "What I Was Born to Do". Unfortunately the show only has a three-track promo recording right now and it's not included on it :( Hopefully a full recording is made soon!

@stephh1991 I saw the show last night, and there isn't any auto tuned singing. The auto tune in this video is from the music one of the squads uses for their routine, so it's pre-recorded.

also in one bring it on movie, I don't remember it, but main character had to switch schools, because her parents were moving, and in this she had to switch schools because of school boarder line, neither school had a cheerleading team.

Annie's not that bad. I was also upset that West Side Story closed. But every show has it's time. If great shows never closed, we wouldn't have the fantastic revivals of shows like Follies, La Cage aux Folles, Evita, Gypsy, &c. And we wouldn't be introduced to all the fantastic new musicals over the years: In the Heights, Next to Normal, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Producers, Avenue Q, &c.

I saw this show a while back and it's pretty entertaining and the songs are catchy but it's hard to get past the fact that most of the songs are just a checklist of tropes. Of all the songs on this montage, for instance, only Cross the Line and Do Your Own Thing aren't strictly to formula.

Man, it really sucks that they cut "It's Right In Front Of You" and changed it to "What I Was Born To Do (Reprise)". Don't get me wrong, I do like "What I Was Born To Do (Reprise)" but I felt like "It's Right In Front Of You" was a better song and that it also fitted better in that scene in my opinion 😔
