I'm not sure if it's viable, but shouldn't you have made the powerplants a priority over the defenses?
No power, no defenses - at least thatt's the logic. Or did that game mechanic make its way into newer CnCs?
I played Generals, but I don't remember how it worked.. I was so... young (12 - 14).

No power, no defenses still works, but there is no way for King Raptors and Comanches to stop a laser attack, unlike missiles. Thats why he goes after the defenses first

He builds power plants back very quickly so you waste units by doing that.
