- This is a time-lapse of a cold and sunny mid-winter's day. This day was cold and bright with a strong easterly wind, which made it feel especially raw. Despite this, it made a nice change from all of the wet weather during the previous month.
Here are the times of key events in the video. These are the times on the clock in the video, not the video time itself.
06:57 -- Dawn (even though the time-lapse starts later)
07:10 -- Lowest temperature (1.5°C)
08:23 -- Sunrise
10:47 -- Highest temperature (3.0°C)
12:17 -- Solar noon (14.3° above the horizon)
16:10 -- Sunset
17:37 -- Dusk (even though the time-lapse ends earlier)
Day length: 7h 47m

Nice Video! The days are getting longer a little bit now, which is good.
hi scott brilliant video
this is awesome. for some people who didn't know, around that date the video was shot its the latest sunrise and the conditions for it were absolutely perfect.
nice!
Not bad, cold but I love a fine winter's day - a stillness and peace with cdeep blue coloured skies. I am moving to Chch a place further south this year and will see cold crisp winter days again. It gets short days there, but nothing like you - shortest day there - SR 8.03am, SS 4.59pm, sun height is 23.1 degrees and average high 11c and low 2c but days as cold as -6c can happen and snow falls occasionally some years.
Surprised there was such a small temperature difference between day and night on such a sunny day, must have been because of the strong wind moderating the temps.
Yes, if the wind is constantly churning and mixing the air around there won't be much variation in the temperature.
The days have gotten longer by almost 30 minutes good video btw
20 minutes since the winter solstice where I am, with most of that in the evenings.
@@ScottRichards10I’ve only lost 9 mins of sunrise time that of today, sunset time I’ve lost 34mins
