Oh. That bike looks like a clunker.
@@OWK000 Looks don't matter.
Price and performance matters.
@ < $2k, including carry baskets and with a range of 60-80 miles, this e-bike looks very attractive for weekly shopping into town without ever buying another gallon of gas nor polluting the air for the rest of my life.
I call it a win/win winner.
@@TheOleHermit I am an experience bike person and I don't like the geometry and balance of that bike and even the handlebars look to small. It looks all wrong and he wobbles when he rides it. That shouldn't happen. That's a lot of money for something that is has handling issues and could be dangerous. I hate to be negative. I REALLY hate to be negative, maybe I shouldn't be commenting at all, but this e-bike checks all the "Nah, no waaay!!" boxes. I mean you can see him ride it! If a bike is crap, good advertising isn't going to help much.
@@OWK000 Thank you for your opinion, based upon watching Jim's riding.
It's a bicycle with 2 wheels, an adjustable seat & handlebars, just like most others, IMO.
@ 70 years old, I only want something to mindfully commute to town for supplies, without destroying the futures of young folks, not to ride in any trail rallies
I actually checked out the specs on the sales site and found several different 20" & 26" models for different riding conditions.
But since you're so negative, I'll check out some of the YT reviews by experienced e-bike riders to get their feedback compared to other e-bikes, before placing my order. I always do for expensive purchases, anyway.
THAT WAY TO MUCH BRO. I WOULDN'T GIVE 500 dollars for it. I can get a 250 cc dirt bike for that man. do 70 mph and about 200 miles on it. BUT IF YOU LIKE IT? THAT WHAT COUNTS 👍👍 Its not to late to get YOUR MONEY BACK 🌝
She smiled at the end Tell her to do it more it looks good on her 😊
Jess is a beautiful person perfectly matched with Jim. ~ 🐾
Ms Jess Hollywood, is a regular biker babe!😂
Dayum! Jess is lookin good! She sure can handle those earthbags! 🎉❤
I would like to see drawn up plans for the root cellar with the new design. I’m having a hard time visualizing what you have in mind.
You guys need a hat! It's hot in Los Angeles, indoors, I can't imagine working outdoors in 103* heat. Keep safe!
The Homesteaders I watch in Oklahoma and Arkansas have been given two bikes for the couple. They all seem to use the same battery also. They need t to send you another bike for Jess.
❤TY for the VIDEO 😊 PEACE
I really like your videos. I look forward to seeing Jim be silly and Jess just smile. Great to see Jess feeling good. Great to watch y'all having a little fun too. Thanks for the smiles
Ebikes have become quite popular and you see them everywhere. You make your own air conditioning as you pedal and it's comfortable even in hotter climates. They're not allowed on Mackinac Island so check your area before purchasing them.
You need a small 4 wheel cart you could hook up to your bike so you can haul things in it & tie them down if needed.
Hey Hovsco, I think you should send Jess her own bike. Place is looking good!
Nice add on with the bike for the property. Hey, you guys are surrounded by such beauty, color and life and it's missing from your new logo. I know you don't have a lot of computer time with all you got going on there - but I think adding beauty to the logo and replacing those stark black and white portions, will really reflect everything you do and who you are. Love you guys.
That is a Hella cool bike Jim! The root seller is looking g really good!!❤
Excellent work always🇺🇸📣
I think our heat waves are only going to get worse. But once you get the outside of the dome whitewashed, I bet it stays a LOT more cool. I wish our place did! We're talking about a roof-over once we need to have ours replaced. And I told Ken that we *are* getting a swamp cooler for next summer.
4:36 I was actually thinking of Attila the Hun. Guess I'm weird like you. :)
you guys are the best i love watching your, videos. just keep them coming.
While studying A.C.,I learned about when liquids evaporate, they leave behind coolness. Thus I thought about using a sprinkler hose on my roof & connecting it to the Artesian Well, with a Solar Controled valve to run water over my roof when the sun shines. You could do the same in your Dome Home, I imagine. Keep cool, yall are lookin good.👋😎🐕🍇🚲🌧☔️
I learned something today. I didn't know the difference of the type of bags being used. So the red hyperadobe type you have to put a regular roof on. Where your bags are because you are putting a dome of earth on. I've saw alot of people using the red bags.
Jusr a thought. 20:46 Both of are working so hard lifting, digging, and loading those bags. Perhaps You could get a used quad or sidebyside or best a small tractor just to help you haul dirt. That will save you from the injury you are doing to your bodies. Love you all. ❤
It would be really nice if you gifted one to them.
@@feliciaobryan6156 oe even you
Really interesting. Thank you for sharing 😊
Wow Jim I wondered how those E-bikes worked and this vid helps me understand just how these things work. So happy for you that you got one. OH and I was super jealous of those grapes! Want to grow some on my property too!
Very cool 😎 bike. Jess still Rocks🎉🎉. Lots of love and hugs to you all 😊😊
It's gotten up to 92° in our son's 18 inch hyperadobe bag house! 🌞🏜️
The inside temperatures are typically staying in the mid 80s. He's just using fans and is finding it reasonably comfortable.
Your basement is probably helping your temperatures stay cooler. 😎
Hopefully it will cool down soon, and we'll get some rain! 🌦️
He is living in the house now, and has found that running appliances and cooking make it hotter inside too. The extra heat will be nice in the winter though.
nice bike .......... expensive with disc brakes .......now need some bike trails
Glad you are well Jess; wishing yo both a day filled with love and peace.
I think the more you use the E-bike the more you two will like it.
Nice bike. And I love it being heavyweight. To me that means it’s sturdier. You can carry 22 lbs on front basket & 55 lbs on back bracket, 77 lbs is great! That makes it very useful.
Thanks for sharing this info. You two are moving alone well on your homestead. Looking good.👍🏼😁♥️
When are you going to finish the exterior dome finish? I see you use pet hair. You should use local pet grooming businesses for hair source.
If you build an interior dome frame you could use super and hyper...Afterwards could disassemble the frame if you don't want to use it as part of the structure. Reuse it on future projects...
When I saw you ride off on that bike I half expected a "Raindrops keep falling on my head" moment like from "Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid"
That's great Jessica I too collect weeds and feed them to my chicken they love it, as for the grapes at least they left a few for you I had one peach on my tree the squirrel had it this morning.
My son has an E bike he loves it. The root seller is definitely progressing I see the steps are in place great video thank you.
J&J, I enjoy your videos no matter what you call them. You guys are hard workers both. This note is especially for Jessica, today.
Jess, you really impress me with you willingness and abilities to do all sorts of things for building your dream homestead. Today I noticed that you had taken the time prior to this video to put on makeup and you looked great! I appreciate the extra time and effort needed for that!
Jim, you are capable, pleasantly talkative, and as I stated before work your bum off (sounds better than “butt”!).
I look forward to following you guys as your place slowly but surely progresses.
As the 75 y/o handyman, I’m quite familiar with a life that often gets interrupted by tiny forest fire while trying to get projects done…exasperating!
My best regards to you both,
Marshall Dressel
Co-owner of Sundara West B&B

You need a gel filled seat.
Rework slows progress & reworking of rework stopps progress
HA HA HA I love the use of the "rolling" tray for the chicken food. 😉🤭 Much love from Alaska🥰
I'm really enjoying the way you are formatting your vids. I like the jump from one thing to another. Good work youse twos!
I read a book one time I think it was from time life Titled "The pioneers". And back then the pioneers used to make houses out of Sod. And they had their cooking stoves in there. And they had a hole of the top for the smoke to go out because these were wood burning stoves. But the only problem with the sod houses was that sometimes bugs would come in, so they had to always cover all their pots with lids . And since there was no wood to cook with they used Cow Patties..And in the beginning they used sticks or bits of cloth, or even their apron to pick up the cow patties. soon they picked them up with just their hands and dusted their hands together after. 😂💐😊🙏
Are you still building another dome over the root cellar?
Jess looking like a Rock Star with those glasses and the black top! Rock on!
hi would creeping vines and bushes around dome help for heat intrusion ?
e-bikes are hugely underrated for off-grid and preppers. If you don't have one, get one!
Awesome thing about the bike is you can take the dogs for a run without overworking yourself and it’s pretty good for the dogs.
I love watching ya'll. But I have started to wonder of an Earthship would have been better for ya'll and all your goals
Why not use ~4in galvanized garden stakes (u- shaped ~10ga) for securing the barbed wire - they are very inexpensive and will radically speed up the process. Clearly a lot (most) of the time for the bagging is spent on the prep. Great to watch you guys - keep up the good work!
That’s why we love watching you guys. Are you guys explain things for me to understand for being illiterate I understand more working on hands than people who has education.
Howdy Jess and Jim. Great to see you both again. The root cellar is coming along. It’s amazing how you and Jess are non stop working. Great progress, even with this intense heat. Stay cool, hydrated, and fun. Your introduction on the e-bikes was interesting. I never realized how much fun you can have. Take care and blessings to you all.
Thanks for sharing 👍😀
Could just use the tarp as a shoot for the dirt instead of carrying it down a few cans at a time.
loved the bike ideal for your part of the world.
Looks like its time for a new version of the DDS! You guys are making good progress, everything is looking great.
Thanks for explaining the difference between, super adope and hyper adobe and just bags. If you had the right connections in China you might be able to order wider tubes the size of the bags, but you would probably have to do a pretty big order to make it cost appropriate.
Hey Jim and Jess your jar of southern sweetness is on the way. Coming from Muddy Pond Sorghum in Tenn. they are one of the very few sorghum mills left. I hope you two like this unique flavor, great on buttered biscuits. Keep up the great channel.
Now you need a little 2 wheeler trailer with a 550W Solar panel Over hanging you and the trailer to charge your 40V battery and provide shade 🙂
Adding to my recent comment (few minutes ago) if you guys "counter-angle" two of the stakes (at the same location) then the wire will be better secured (it won't tend to pop-out b/f you place the bags).
Definitely wear a hat in those temperatures
Good choice on getting that bike. That one sunset shot with the bike was so beautiful!
E bikes are cool!😊
Walls with ventilated layers to protect from the heat.
If the stairs will now be on the outside of the dome, what will keep heavy rain from pooling at the bottom of the stairs and flooding the structure?
Also, without a retaining wall couldn't the dirt wall along the stairs eventually collapse into the doorway?
Was wondering that too.
We don't understand what shape the root cellar will be since it seems like it will be a different shape than previously. Can this be clarified?
Those bikes look awesome. It seems like they are targeting so many RUclips's. Great to watch your consistent baby steps on the buildings
Great Bike. We have lots of prickles down in Chihuahua. We line the wheels with another thin worn tyre and tape at the join so that the inner tube isn't punctured so easily with torritos.
Love watching y’all’s progress and all the problem solving!
Hi buddy how you guys doing today hope you guys are having a great time hope chest is doing fine I hope she's getting better hope you guys get things done as soon as possible all right God bless you guys
Knowledgeable folks forsure.
Looking great guys! Love how the dome garden is looking. Great job guys and keep it up. Love and be safe!😘🤗🌼🇻🇪
Getting lots done this week!
You should consider putting the bottom of the bag against the door forms
Removable battery is a must in the area I live and the options are exciting. I hope you get lots of use and look forward to seeing its performance.
Great information. Thank you!
Our pleasure!
I know it is hot but a bicycle helmet is in order.
Jess looks like a true biker chick on the e-bike! You go, Jess!
Yep, I wasn't thinking about Attila at all. LOL
Might I recommend wood glue or lock tight on every bike bolt and screw. I was once a motorized bike builder.
Jess you are a very strong lady to do all this hard work Jim you are so kind to your lovely wife you always making sure she is ok that's what a real husband does I love watching your amazing videos please don't be to long in the heat it's 111 here in my part of Texas Rosa olbera
Hello Jim & Jess! So, I admit it has been a while since I checked in and my first thought was …what? Where is my goofiness!!! But I see how far you have come, and how many come to you for vital information and I have to congratulate you on your channel.
Be goofy folks. Great work x Jasmin
Raise the saddle on the bike. Your leg should have about 95% extension at the bottom of the pedal stroke.
Love the e bike!😊
Fun video, nice variety of activities.
Lol, as soon as you called her “hun” I said “Attila?”
I found when working with dirt of back fills
Last thing I would do each day was get dirt ready for the next day
And wet it down
Over night it had time to some what balance the moisture
I see some people add 10% cement to their hyperadobe. Thats medium-strength concrete. At that point, forget the bags and do a slip form like the miners did.
Nice work again, cool bike's
Nice bike!
I have seen a hyperadobe dome but it was a small one, maybe 15' diameter.
EBikes are nice but be careful sometimes I go out for a 10 mile ride and end up getting home 30 miles later.
Have ya'll ever thought about using the same mixture you used to make the steps on the side wall next to the steps , it would reinforce the dirt so it wouldn't fall in ? ....
I was gonna tell you a couple of things with my teeth they hurt in the winter time when it’s cold and my mother used to drink hot water or hot tea she drank, but that helps a lot with your teeth if they get infected and also with the pain and on your root cellar, I think you’re gonna have to put either rock or concrete around the Earth bags to keep them from moving and maybe even some rebar just my suggestions
The eBike looks really awesome!! Tbh, I wasn't aware of this brand, so I will check them out now. I've been looking into tricycle myself, but I really like those fat tyres!
What exactly is your plan for the second dome (Root cellar)? is it going to be a dome / living area or just a n underground storage would be helpful if there was some kind of diagram or Model to see where your going with this "change of plans" having stairs on the outside is not going to work just a big funnel for rain water to flood the structure as far as we can see.
Jessica I love your jeans and tank top you look awesome I'm def going to get me 1of those elect bikes
6:49 is it possible to double bag wide walls?
I don't know how far out of town you guys live, but if the range on it can get you to and from town in one charge, you could use it to take care of small chores in town without using gas and putting miles in your cars. Since you get all of your electrical power from the sun, you're charging it up for free.
If you could rig a pull cart or wagon on the back of it, you could use it to move a bunch of dirt and rocks around on your property. Am I wrong?
Very cool bike there 🙂👍
I was thinking a shoot system would make dirt work nicer
I was thinking Atila.
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 good work nice bike.
great bike
one of you two will be riding the bike to check mail LOL
