Ah, AirEQ...I've been a fan for so long. The first EQ to challenge me to use my ears instead of my eyes. I was a big evangelist back in 2006 when it came out. Cheers! Looking forward to the rest of the Slate reviews. :)
My go to EQ for years has always been Fabfilter's pro Q 3 and I'm quite stuck in my ways tbh haha. But this one sounds fantastic though and that top end it brings to the drums was so clean! I love this kind of content mate! 👍
@@XenoTheProducer Well, you've got about 50 vids to catch-up on lol! Yeah, FabFilter is the industry standard for a reason. But! Slate has a response that comes with the Access bundles: Infinity EQ 2! It's nearly feature-identical. That's a few letters down the list, so it'll be a while till that video. Thanks for checking out the channel! You're a great musician, so it means a lot.
@@dahlhousestudios Thank you for the kind words mate, that really does mean a lot! The only Slate plugin Ive ever actually tried was the OG Slate FX-G, so maybe one day I'll have to try some of their other products, because that EQ sounds great. And yeah I will have plenty of videos to watch! haha
Do you have the Access Pass? It gets difficult as we accumulate plugins. I fell back in love with this EQ while doing this showcase. I'm 100% putting this on all my mix busses with 1-1.5dB of Air and Earth on it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@dahlhousestudios Yeah I have the All Access Pass, I wish they would allow you use some of the units outside the VMR, a bit like sound toys. That would be really useful.
@@threethievesmusic I have SoundToys Effects Rack too and it didn't allow me to use effects outside of it 🤔 To be fair, many rack effects have independent versions, like AirEQ (I didn't show the rack versions of Air and Earth 'cos I'm dumb!) But yeah, so many plugs I do wish were available as inserts: the gates, transient designer, EQs. I was really not into the VMR at first. But what won me over was how light it runs as a system. I can actually load VMR plugins on a track while recording into it! It carves out its own buffer. Pretty cool. Anyway, Custom Opto compressor is next on the alphabetical list! Thanks
Yes! Do you have All Access Pass? You know what, I had kind of let AirEQ slide a bit over the last few years. This is what happens when you have too many plugins lol! But I was serious in the vid: I'm putting this on all my mix busses from now on: 1dB-ish of Air and Earth. I'm also going to break it out for surgical EQ'ing (along with Slate's Infinity EQ 2 for dynamic and sidechaining EQ) more often-after learning so much more about it and seeing how clean it is. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Bought this when it came out. It never failed.
YEs! A fellow OG AirEQ acolyte! Slate's smartest move was teaming up with Eiosis. Thanks for watching!

A classic, I need to not overlook this one.
