Port Phillip Bay Scallop Diving - 3 June 2022

Got to the boat ramp at Indented Head, and the water was quite a bit choppier than the predictions had shown. Still, we drove to our spot and got in and the water was beautiful and clear. Dove for about 30 minutes because the water was freezing but still had an enjoyable dive. Came home with 91 delicious scallops. Enjoy!
Water temp was 10 Celsius, 10 knots/20km winds coming from the east, visibility was 15 meters.

seeing those little flower shaped things retract back down their tube was so wild. I bet diving is an incredible adventure.

Is it viable to shore dive for scallops with just a snorkel or are they generally a bit deeper?

Hi John. I’m sure you would be able to find scallops in close but often they are out further
