Concert in the Royal Danish Academy of Music Hall on the 16th of October 2016 Soloist: Kirstine Schneider Conductor: Kvamé Ryan Orchestra: Copenhagen Phil
I think that this will be, when time has come, a violin concerto often played. And thank you, Kirstine Schneider for your wonderful playing. Mr Salonen is not only a dirigent, also a gifted composer.
Powerful! My 9 year old son is obsessed with this concerto after seeing the wonderful details of the Pulse II movement in the iPad app "The Orchestra". The app lets you follow the score while selecting which musicians to watch. It has several other great pieces including Firebird infernal dance and Mahler 6.
Very impressive! This concerto is very difficult and the soloist achieves a deeply emotional and lyrical performance. Many thanks to her and the orhestra for their talent and dedication!
Sounds like cats attacking garbage cans, then slowly dying of ptomaine poisoning. I'm sure the soloist did her best, but if that was composer salonen's best, he should "stick" to conducting! (Couldn't resist that.)

16:12 - One of the coolest orchestral interjections in a concerto. The horns!
Amazing! Thank you so much!
this seemed unpalatable at first but is quite extensively so upon patiently continuing to notice the true depth and texure.
Strong composition, strong performance.
Anybody else’s watching this for school
yep 👍
Yes sir. And i aint complaining. Your lie in april got me into this music genre. Love this 🤣
Could they lower the resolution some more pls. jesus crhist.
It probably looks just fine on the small screen of a cell-phone - and that's how almost everybody views stuff today, in case you didn't know.
