And he adores his fans, who he calls his 'Dears." He's coming to NY in December. He's from Kazakhstan, was born with perfect pitch, was performing when he was 2-3 years old. (He LOVES to sing, and used to get up on the stage when his mom---a famous opera singer--took her bows, and take bows with her.) He began his formal musical education when he was 5, and has continued from then to now. He graduated from their university level just this past summer, and still practices several hours a day. You can see him singing with his parents by putting "Dimash and parents singing" in your search bar. His father is a composer and director in opera, and also has a lovely, honeyed singing voice. They are gentle, kind people, and Dimash wants only to use his wonderful voice to promote his beloved nation (Kazakhstan, formerly a part of the USSR.) People who are very taken with Dimash when they first hear him, sometimes do nothing for six months or more, but listen to and watch his videos. (That's me!) He's taller than you might suppose---6'3". He's 25 years old, as of this past August or September. In his part of the world, he's seriously loved by huge numbers of people. Worldwide, his fan clubs comprise over 11 million people. His songs are a great variety, recently being new compositions by his pianist, Igor Krutoy, who has come out of retirement to write for him. I discovered Dimash just two days ago...(today is August 18, 2019) and I simply cannot stop listening to him. I must have watched fifty reaction videos (or more) and enjoyed most of them, but Shannon, your reaction is so close to what I experienced and am still experiencing that I feel like crying all over again.
