Morning Caroline. I do love a chatty GRWM. Putting my makeup on in the morning is a kind of "me time" therapy and it sets me up for the day. Life is chaotic at the moment as there's so much going on health wise with my parents, especially my mum (waiting on results from a dementia assessment). Some days I don't know which way is up, so that time spent at my dressing table is very much needed.
We did manage to get away for a short break at the end of July though. We spent 4 nights at The Arden Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon before heading to Rugby for a niece's wedding and then we spent a few days in Exeter visiting our daughter. It only seems like yesterday that we took her down there for the start of her University days but it'll be 11 years next month. I miss her terribly as we only see her a couple of times a year, but she's settled and loves it there and that's what's important.
Right, time for me to go and get my make-up on. I have a baby shower to go to this afternoon as our youngest niece and her husband are expecting their first child in just under 3 weeks. 😊

Unfortunately we have had a terrible 2023, lost a lot of people, can’t wait for it to be over, just got my knee replacement at the beginning of October and then we can look forward to my husband’s 70th in November, your videos are my escapism, thank you and congratulations to your mum and dad, missed it on instagram 😊
Caroline, I couldn't agree more with you in regards to caring about what people think of me. I just turned 59 and I like makeup, skincare, clothes, jewelry, shoes etc.,as you do. I have began to feel more and more liberated as I have gone through my 50s. And honestly, I love it!! I wear shimmery eyeshadow too! I don't care!! 🤩

Morning Caroline, its so sweet that the care home made such a lovely effort for your dad on his wedding anniversary. 2023 so far hasn't been kind to me, I suffered a break up after a 5 year relationship with a Narcissist that has left me broken and in need of therapy that I'm having at the beginning of September, yesterday for instance I was supposed to go out with girlfriends, I was all ready with perfume on and my handbag with bits in but I couldn't go, I had such a crisis of confidence, that I just went to bed and cried 💕

You are right, as you get older, the less you think about what other people think of you. You must be doing a lot right though, or we wouldn't keep coming back. My 2023 is only just starting. Father in law in hospital beginning of year, he eventually died near end of March, followed by two other bereavements, all in the same week!!😳 14th Feb completely did my back in. Long story short. Was just making some improvement with it and 4th June fell and broke wrist and really damaged my ankle. Today my ankle keeps swelling but it doesn't look too bad. Wrist has twinges. No holidays this year now. I am slowly recovering from my traumas and just trying to get some normality back in my life. Thank goodness I can take the occasional break and watch you and hear all about your year. I don't feel sorry for myself, I will just get to the end of the year and make plans for a better year next year. Onwards and upwards. 😊

Hi Joan - it doesn't really deserve a video, to be honest! I let it dry to about 75% dry, then blast it upside down with a hairdryer, use some Cool Girl spray on the front, backcomb it a bit and pin it back. That's it!

We do want our kids to grow move out and become adults proper but it can be so hard on a Mums heart when the quiet non communicator one hardly touches base. Don’t want to chase them but want to know they are ok and actually care about you. My heart goes out to you & your family regarding your dad. I have been through that with my own dad & then my mom. And you're quite right, the older I get, the less I worry about what others think. I enjoy my makeup at 68 and my jeans too. You're only as old as you feel & age is just a number 😉. I have 3 beautiful young adult granddaughters, who keep me young & fun.

I have F2, F3 and F4 and mix or use them individually depending on how tanned or not I am at the time.

Love your make up you look great and give useful tips.I have had a mixed year nice beach holidays in Crete and Tuscany (I am a sea lover ) however visiting my mother was challenging as always you are so lucky to have a family that get on so well.I certainly dont miss British summers so miserable! I love the sun in the summer.

Your make up & chatty vlog was so interesting.I think you are so professional & the eye colours you choose are beautiful.Its a mix of a year,we went to a Warner leisure holiday for adults only, in January in UK...Spain Benidorm in March first time Benidorm found it noisy,day time ,was good weather & in October a coach holiday,to Wiltshire.Something to do as we are both retired from work.
Your eye make-up always looks fantastic. My technique is a bit slapdash, but I’m trying to improve. I went swimming yesterday and left my rucksack on the bus. The make-up I use for after swimming was in there - so annoying.
I only do blusher and eyes for work, it's so hot in the factory I think foundation would just slide off. Also I tend to only use a BB cream or a tinted moisturiser if I'm going out. I don't really like the feel of foundation. You always look lovely, Caroline. Well turned out as they used to say. Thank you, take care x

I never got into foundation, back in the day there wasn’t all the shades there are now so could never find one I liked plus I felt they made my face feel hot
So I just use concealer and blusher H

Thank you for the lovely video! I was wondering how often you clean your make-up brushes; also, what is your process. You have had a far more exciting year than I with regard to travel! For me, only a couple trips out of state so far (I’m in the US), but several car trips to the beach, which I love.

Morning Caroline,nice chatty vlog enjoyed very much,iv been away 2 times did a cruise in feb to the Caribbean cruising is not for me i was so sick had tables and an injection but nothing worked but did see some fabulous places,then we did Cyprus last month we have a hoilday book for November i no it sounds alot of holidaying and no im very lucky but my younger life was not good iv said before but im now living my happy ever after wish i could have done more traveling as a younger person,i think the young people that put a bag on there back and travel are to be admired wish i could have done this but i did not have that about me i was a bit of a country bumpkin but not any more i life to the full,my daughter traveld after uni i worked to suport her as she traviled all over the world she worked some of the time but then as always i would get a phone call mum could you just help lol but she is married now and i have two wonderful grandsons im am very lucky and i no that,well when i started writing this i did say dont write a book lol,hope you have a good week 😀❤😊
Love watching your videos...like your Mum, I shared an 80th birthday in Feb...makeup always improves my look but, unfortunately, I'm now faced with the problem of severe blepheritis; my eyelashes are now very sparse, short & less on one eye due to this condition and age..any suggestions on how to make my eyes look just a little bit more attractive, false eyelashes are a no no for me....
Hi Dorothy, I have the same problem with my eyelids. Boots Cleansing Eyelid Foam, has really helped me. Its not too expensive and although not a 'cure', it certainly has made the condition less of an issue. Hope this helps.

I used to love my makeup but a few years ago I started with an eye problem and was told it was an allergy but they didn’t know what to, consequently I don’t use any eye make up just foundation, blusher, eyebrows and lipstick (but only occasionally). 2023 would have been a great year except for health problems, I’ve been on a waiting list now for nearly 8 months for injections in my back, not holding out much hope though. Also a blood test has shown heart failure so now on another waiting list to see a cardiologist 😂😂 all that on top of Bronchiectasis and a rare lung disease LYMPHANGIOLEIOMYOMATOSIS bet you can’t say that one 😂😂😂 my body is falling to bits 😂😂😂
Why do your delivery men ring the door bell ! Why don’t they just open the door and put your parcels where you like them to go ..depending what they are , if they’re small , mine always puts the wee ones on the dinning room table , so they don’t get damaged ..
