In the end, Magic has become what Ed feared, artificial scarcity. (All the 'rare' cards are in collector boosters, and they cut the print of collectors' product).
Yea the chase cards like serialized are hard to hit but the jurassic emblems or even neon ink aren't that crazy expensive. I think wizards has done a good job at keeping the collector asspect there. colle@DualBrainMTG
I don't get how there is negativity in the comments about this, it should be very obvious to everyone that these cards only know one way (Yes timmy, down) if they're reprinted for 5 years. And if there's people willing to buy them for the current prices so they're able to play them in their decks it's definitely better than keeping them in your folder until they're worthless.
They are less likely to reprint because it won't sell as fast. We have shiny new object syndrome. We will want the newest set not some set from 3-4 yrs ago.
Eh' Im not so sure. Will they reprint this stuff? Of course, but reprints/secret lairs/ete are regularly coming so this advice could be sent out for literally every card that isn't the ultimate version
@DualBrainMTG sorry I wasn't being clear in my start, I don't think you need to rush to resell. Will they reprint? Of course. Will it be within a year or so? Unlikely. My guess is it will be at most once a year. You have plenty of time for cards to appreciate a bit during that time and sell
So true. People like this are ruining the game. They are the same ones that buy 15 boxes when they release and then turn around and sell for 100 x the value ie: lotr collector booster boxes.
Lol, you think that's what he wants... Haha... Everything will be printed into the ground. Every card will be a penny. Technically, I'm fine with that... But if you think he wants to up the value on your collection... You aren't the brightest bulb in the box. The idea would be nuke all prices like all other TCG and make every single available to buy direct from WOTC @ set prices.

Indeed. I have been talking about manufactured scarcity for a long time… it’s all that’s left

Yes yes yes 100% correct! Thanks Ed!

I know, it’s kind of a simple message and obvious at the same time.
Yet the comments prove that it needs to be said
yeah, might be a good idea 😁👊🏻
This should've been the rule since they started making Masters sets.
Thanks younger and slightly less disillusioned Rudy
The set will be out for 4 years or something like that .

That’s kind of the point

@@TickBallsOut there’s a point where the balance tips. There cannot be a $50+ card in the base version.
@@DualBrainMTG I agree fully.

@@DualBrainMTGHe is correct.

tell me you're a poor without saying you're a poor😂
@tacotacotacobajablast6821 wow you are an actual ass hole.
Hopefully when Elon musk takes over Hasbro he will cut the stupid reprints down a notch
Because of the reprints, I was able to finally afford a cavern of souls and doubling season.
You’re the problem. Go back to blowing your dad as a hobby.

Capitalist don’t care about your earnings and success, they only care about their positive profit margins.
So you’re giving financial advice. Hope everyone holds you accountable.
It’s a children’s card game lil bro, calm down 😂
Automatic dislike for someone who cannot make a FOUR MINUTE VIDEO without sipping their overpriced coffee!!!!
Bro, it’s a reusable plastic cup with freeze dried coffee I had just made. You need to check that craziness
