i don't really find AC rogue historically accurate, because its fair to say that Shane is irish Nationalist therefore he would not join the tempelars because the templars backed the british in the American war of independence, an irishman of that time would hate the british and would never in a million years back the british ever although he was betrayed (unless he's a loyalist but he does mention something about father connolly in 37:35 so he knew a priest well which more than likely means he's a Nationalist)

I love getting inside a traitors head. Seeing what drives them to do something that externally looks so horrid. This is a powerful story. I didn’t think I’d like it but I think it’s my favorite AC now 😅
Better story overall than Unity in my opinion. Kind of confusing how they didn't do as good of a job portraying why Templar's ideals have sense to them. Honestly Assassin's Creed, the original did a better job. Would of liked better plot points surrounding Shay in his transition and how he seems to have little to no regard in just murdering other assassins right after he was exiled, as if the actions of just the leaders of the brotherhood stains everyone for him.
Same here. But do remember that the Assassin-Templar Conflict is not a black and white war of good verse evil. As they've noted many times, the Assassins and Templars want the same end goal, they just have diametrically opposing beliefs on how to achieve it. The Assassins have their own share of skeletons in their closet. After all how many times has the assassins we've played as killed random guards solely because they were in the way. In the first game Altair kills several guys who's only crime was being paid/forced into shouting out Templar rhetoric and might tell their boss. A curious thing for an assassin who's first tenant is to stay his blade from the flesh of the innocent. Of course with Juno out and about now, that Conflict is likely to come to a halt in the face of the threat she posses. So don't feel bad about choosing the security of Order over the chaos of Freedom. May the Father of Understanding guide us.

If you want the follow the story, then start with AC Blackflag, then AC Rogue then AC3. Shay killed Arno's father, so I guess you could also go from AC Rouge right to AC Unity.

With the help of Haythem Kenway, Shay Cormac killed Adéwalé, undoing a big part of Edward's legacy at the hands of his own son. Shay went on to kill an assassin, sparking the journey of Arno Dorian. Meanwhile, Haythem got busy with a native american, conceiving Connor Kenway, who later killed his father, Haythem Kenway, just as Haythem had worked to destroy his father's, Edward Kenway's, legacy.
I'm glad Shay kept to the true morals and codes of the Creed, even after becoming a Templar agent. If Altair and Ezio saw how far the colonial Assassins had fallen, they would no doubt be very disappointed.
I really took offense to ubisoft killing adewale at the hands of a half-wit irish prick who seems to keep repeating cliche movie lines like "I make my own luck!" and "I make this look good!". I felt assassin's creed stopped being interesting after assassin's creed revelations. Back then the story still had some mystery and meaning and a hero. What followed was a series of water down poorly fleshed out plots full of holes and confusion. AC3 was about an angsty native indian boy who seem to be rebelling against all the grownups, only he did all his therapy with a stab of his blade, AC4 was a better story and gameplay but kinda lost sight of what AC story is about. Instead of any new developments in the battle of assassin's versus templars it just dragged an office drama about a creepy sage character and his attempt to turn u into his Bitch...literally. The game was fun but the adewale was perhaps the most memorable character and the wisest in AC4. AC rogue just took all that and turned it into a tasteless scrambled plot egg. Instead of adding anything important to the story it just took characters from two previous games and smashed them into one and not in a dignified way. Was there even a reason why shay rebelled? The careless jackass just up and decided that assassins are evil and achilles knew everything about the strange artifacts after one botched mission, then at the end he acts like he was warning them by stabbing all of them to death. And then it all ends with him killing arno's father and talking about starting an anarchic genocide that is the french revolution. He murdered his former assassin friends out of that irrational fear that they were about to start a genocide and now he is talking about doing it himself? that is some weak conviction. The last three assassin's creed stories just weakened the image of assassins as "heroes without fault" but the weakest contribution among the three in terms of story and gameplay is definitely AC Rogue. It just regurgitated some old characters from the previous games and filled plot holes left in AC3 with a bot like character shay that has no depth or personality just a random impulse of accusing the assassin's of genocide then turning around and starting another himself. After they killed of desmond (who was definitely weak as soup) they just lost direction altogether. Assassin's creed story since AC3 sounds more like a bad soap opera then an epic adventure to save the world from an imminent threat.

James Winstone idk man Altair has always been the King of Assassin's Creed. i'm not sure why but he just worked better, his free running was better, he controlled better, his attacks felt better, than in the next game you have to work your ass off just to get his outfit and setup, (while playing as Ezio) Altair will always be my #1 ;P

In addition to that, In AC4 Edward takes young Haytham to an opera. And in the first mission in AC3, at the very same opera, Haytham says he had been there as a kid, but hardly remembers it. Gave me chills :)

While Unity's story is bad, I think there's a lot enjoyable about its gameplay, graphics, and world. With a better story I think I could have ranked it as the best AC.

I really took offense to ubisoft killing adewale at the hands of a half-wit irish prick who seems to keep repeating cliche movie lines like "I make my own luck!" and "I make this look good!".
I felt assassin's creed stopped being interesting after assassin's creed revelations. Back then the story still had some mystery and meaning and a hero. What followed was a series of water down poorly fleshed out plots full of holes and confusion. AC3 was about an angsty native indian boy who seem to be rebelling against all the grownups, only he did all his therapy with a stab of his blade, AC4 was a better story and gameplay but kinda lost sight of what AC story is about. Instead of any new developments in the battle of assassin's versus templars it just dragged an office drama about a creepy sage character and his attempt to turn u into his Bitch...literally. The game was fun but the adewale was perhaps the most memorable character and the wisest in AC4. AC rogue just took all that and turned it into a tasteless scrambled plot egg.
Instead of adding anything important to the story it just took characters from two previous games and smashed them into one and not in a dignified way. Was there even a reason why shay rebelled? The careless jackass just up and decided that assassins are evil and achilles knew everything about the strange artifacts after one botched mission, then at the end he acts like he was warning them by stabbing all of them to death. And then it all ends with him killing arno's father and talking about starting an anarchic genocide that is the french revolution. He murdered his former assassin friends out of that irrational fear that they were about to start a genocide and now he is talking about doing it himself? that is some weak conviction. The last three assassin's creed stories just weakened the image of assassins as "heroes without fault" but the weakest contribution among the three in terms of story and gameplay is definitely AC Rogue. It just regurgitated some old characters from the previous games and filled plot holes left in AC3 with a bot like character shay that has no depth or personality just a random impulse of accusing the assassin's of genocide then turning around and starting another himself. After they killed of desmond (who was definitely weak as soup) they just lost direction altogether. Assassin's creed story since AC3 sounds more like a bad soap opera then an epic adventure to save the world from an imminent threat.
Im forever an assassin i believe in free well and the freedom of my life so assassin to the core if u really hate freedom so much you are denied from knowing who i am the creed protects us " Nothing is True " And Remember " Everything Is Premitted " and we live in the shadows so noun may know who we are but a short hint this game isnt wrong there are the creeds and other orders that have existed for millenniums who ever cam up with assassins creed most have had some knowledgeable info.

While Unity's story is bad, I think there's a lot enjoyable about its gameplay, graphics, and world. With a better story I think I could have ranked it as the best AC.
