We had a 165 and 185 4x4 good tractors in their day.. Also I had a Fordson super major 4x4 with isacson winches.. in the late 70s we used a universal 4x4 with winches .. for small estate plantation thinning .

You just showed why I keep chains on and how a FEL comes in handy, with a bucket, short forks or a grapple, a FEL can push or pull a tractor out. And thats one thing that you Euerows dont have on tractors, [grapples], they are very popular here in the US, I wish I had one....
PS. I never heard of adjustable 4-wheel drive........

You're right about that. They can be very handy for situations like this.
Yeah the 4wd is driven by a slip clutch from the main gear shaft. You can adjust the slip rate to save the front axle from damage under high loads.
Thanks for another comment my friend. Appreciate it ❤️

@@woodlandwrench On new tinker toy tractors like what I have, they just small tires on front so you get less traction, that's why they say no chains on front.
To get big tires on front of todays tractors like what you have, you have to get a 50 hp or more, JD and LS you have to go 60 hp. Thats one reason why I dont like those brands, on Kubota, Kioti, TYM and maybe couple other brands, on their 30 hp tractors you can get 16" AGs instead of 14".
I like the front AGs be as big as possible but not able break the front end, I like the front tire to be just a little smaller then rear, like what your MF has, I like both ends of tractor be the business end. Todays 30 hp tractors are made to just carry a bail of hay around the barn and pull on 6" tree, they aren't made for what I use them for, I over work my tractor...........

@@job38four10 I didn't know about the HP requirement for 4wd. My massy is about 62hp (brand new, probably less now).
Kubota are nice tractors I've heard. They're not very big in Norway to my knowledge, but I do know there are dealers where you can buy them brand new.
But people aren't buying new tractors around here for the brand, they just buy whatever the closest dealer is selling, for the convenience of easy service and repairs. In my area there is a lot of AGCO and CNHI tractors. Mainly Valtra, MF and New Holland. Closer to the city there is a lot more JD.
      Edit: typo

Kinda looks like the portside tyre is narrower than the other

You have a good eye because you're absolutely right. It came like that when I bought it. I'm not sure why, but my guess is they punctured and bought a used tire as a replacement.

You went no where there that a 2wd david brown tractor wouldn't go

Even my soviet Belarus MTZ 80hp tractor would go in that mud and river without a problem! You should buy a Belarus tractor they’re the most reliable and robust in my opinion, they’re very heavy for its horse power hence why it’s got no competition for up to 100hp tractor range

They are probably good tractors as you say. But Belarus is rare to find in Norway and difficult to get parts for over here.
