Female inmate Dana Gray recalls sexual harassment and verbal abuse endured after being forced to share her room with a male inmate identifying as a transgender woman. Since SB 132 - the gender self-identification law - took effect in California, she says this treatment by “men in women’s clothing” is an all-too-frequent occurrence. No matter the crime, no one deserves to be subjected to abuse, and Dana’s story highlights the pain inflicted by politicians who she says “don’t care” about women in prison.
