Comparing players performing in the NBA and then in Europe is a little bit more complex than just stats on how they perform. In the NBA there are players that a pure roll players and they would be an average player in any of these leagues too. The NBA scouting reports and advance stats effect how players are used. A player that is only restricted to do 3 things in the NBA is free to play how they like in Europe.
Yes the NBA is easily the best league in the world, but rookies can enter the NBA more ways. Watching Scoot Henderson highlights at high school and the G league is great, but if we watch Josh Giddey play against these high school kids/g League players he would destroy the competition even more. LaMelo development to the NBA was probably a better direction than going to USA college. College ball is great for players that want an education and want the college experience, but maybe not the best direction to become a better ball player.

I think this video was a bit bias. You looked at players who failed at the NBA and went off to different leagues and destroyed there. You didn’t talk about how players developed in other leagues and are super stars in the NBA. You briefly described Luka’s experience but he says the NBA is easier. Melo Ball developed in Lithuania and NBL and is now an NBA super star with triple doubles. You can also compare the NBA to international basketball level. Look at the Olympics teams who develop players in their own countries and league with the addition of some NBA players can still compete at the highest level.

PPG is not a fair comparison when the player is not getting enough game time in the NBA while in other leagues he is considered a star player and is given maximum game time. Taking your example of Andrew Bogut, the additional ppg/stats he gets in NBL compared to NBA is because he gets 3x more game time in NBL.

Shouldn´t just compare stats and if somebody wins MVP or so.
In most of this leagues that are based in europe the style of play is completly different, is way more team play and more running of systems drawn. Also the MVP isn´t always the best player on their own team but the most valuable. NBA is more focused on one on one and having a big star that can´t do any wrong. This is also a big difference. So just to compare their stats isn´t right you should factor what way did their nba team play and many other things.
Bogut becoming a mvp in australia doesn´t mean he was the best player in the league, he wasn´t even the best on his team, he just had the biggest impact to his team winning games.
Also your comparison of lets say the euroleague and the cba is just wrong. The cba is way worse that this league so it is no suprise that former nba players, young or old dominat this league. If like in your example Mc Grady or Jennings went to one of the best 3 leagues in europe they wouldn´t produce this stats some might argue that they wouldn´t even make the team that is why they went to the cba.
And last thing if you ask a lot of european players that play really good in the nba they will tell you that it is easier to score in the nba.

This honestly is just another example of people from the us being unable to see the world past their country. The NBA sure is a show when compared to other basketball leagues, but its quite literally a hiperindividualistic show, where the teams that actually play as a team are surprisingly scarce. If you like some team sports, i'd understand you actually enjoy teams having chemistry, knowing how to play from their advantages and cover their flaws. And if you try to analyze the NBA from this standards, its sucks. When you watch the nba, 90% of the time, possesions are a random poorly contested shot with no team play, no proper deffence (and a random block now and then is not proper deffence), iso, and basically boring teamplay wise. If you watch any other major basketball league, the amount of team play, defensive effort, chemistry between the players, and overall good basketball you see is far more entertaining than seeing for the thousand time in a row someone sink 10 three pointers in a game because no one is guarding them. Open shots dont exist in such leagues, being standing still while your star player does an iso doesnt exist, 300 combined point games dont exist in such leagues, and everything that makes the nba flashy doesnt exist. The game is played as a team game, with common effort to win. From you, who loves the warriors so much, they are the closest (even while being miles away) from being similar to these other basketball leagues

    • @Videos-sobre-punhos-e-rodas
      @Videos-sobre-punhos-e-rodas 2 года назад +2

With 8 minutes less, is harder to do that much points. But, even so, a game with more than 100 points is rare. Is actually a feat for a team to hit to surpass that barrier. That because the defense is harder than the NBA. I remember a Milano-Barcelona from last season in which Milano ended the game with less than 60 points. Less than 60 points! You don't see that in NBA nowadays.

as a euroleague follower I can say our national leagues is just for training to euroleague. I dont even know we won or lose last year national league. I really dont. so other than nba there is eurolegue, noting more. btw Im fenerbahçe fan. cska, real, barselona, fenerbahçe, efes, maccabi etc. have one goal, winning the euroleague.
here basketball is slower pace, more grinding. and also we have 40 min not 48. so stats not showing the reality.
lets look luka, he was great in here. but not amazingly far from others. he was great. thats it. when we won euroleague bogdan take an mvp and he was the best in europe.
system is important here, coach has big roles to win or lose. totally different mindset.
some eurolegue players go to nba and success. some dont. same to nba players coming here, some adapt some not.
ofc nba is better, Im not saying otherwise. Im a nba fan also, I love basketball. but comparing nba to cba is unfair. if someone coming from cba we always think "oh he need one year at least to keep up, than we see if he fits or not, give him a time".

It's pretty simplistic to make such comparisons. The rules, coaching schemes, player development are all different across these leagues. How players develop before they get to the top leagues, the roles they are expected to fill, the coaching schemes they play under on both ends of the court all these things matter.
What can be very obviously said is that players are on the whole bigger, faster and stronger on average in the NBA than all the other major leagues in the world. The rules, the coaching etc, everything is also designed to highlight individual talent as much as possible.
Too simply say the NBA is the most competitive basketball league in the world is short sighted.

To compare Beasly's CBA output to NBA is not relativ. Its like u compare Europe Soccer Leagues to the American. Its just not competitive. All "Old-Stars" of soccer go to the American League because they could shine their even they wont get much minutes in Pro-Leagues anymore. The CBA is like a 2nd or 3rd league from Spain or other Europe Basketball Leagues. The fact is, that top teams of Europe could man up against NBA Teams. The Basketball in Europe is mostly better, but the NBA Players overall athletic is too high. Europe is more Team-Basketball and harder defense. NBA is mostly showrunning... sometimes without Defense. I mean 158 to 126 (Charlotte vs Pacers)... I mean come on, thats just run and gun. And as long as i follow u, i would say u would love Europe Basketball, because u love Golden State who has the biggest team chemistry ive seen for years and one of the unselfishiest lineups for years in the NBA.
