Unfortunately no they never corrected that issue. It seems as though they have discontinued this knife and all versions of it. GSM Outdoors bought SOG, and they will no longer be conducting warranty repairs. At this time they only do replacements of equal or lesser value. Before SOG initiates the replacement you must send them your knife first and after they receive it, then they will mail you your replacement knife. GSM Outdoors also bought Cold Steel, and Cold Steel will be handling resharpening on all blades.
@@joeakins8445 oh that sucks when Big Business starts buying out companies that have been built on their name, that never turns out good! It always turns into penny pinching firing the best people and just trying to squeeze every penny out of every dollar they possibly can, that's my opinion... Thanks for that info!
@@TMthumper the only problem I have with mine is in the safety Falls either locked or unlocked and that's not a good thing I'd rather not even have the safety honestly if I can figure out how to take it out without tearing it up I would like to do that!
SOG no longer conducts warranty repairs. They only offer replacements at equal or lesser value. This sucks for any knives that have been discontinued or were limited edition because they cannot replace them and no longer repair them.
This is a great knife. All the Kiku knives are very high quality. Assisted open is awesome. It is a little heavy for some individuals but I thought it was fine. I carry a knife like this for combat reasons not cleaning my finger nails. If you want a great combat knife SOG makes some of the best knives on the market.
No actually SOG DOES NOT MAKE SOME OF THE FINEST COMBAT KNIVES ON THE MARKET ARE YOU KIDDING ME MAN LOL YOU STILL HAVE A LOT OF LEARNING ABOUT KNIVES TO DO TRY ZERO TOLERANCE HINDERER BENCHMADE SPYDERCO PM2 hell for 35 to 70 dollars try a civivi you can’t go wrong
I handled one of these knives today. I like micarta scales so that's why I spent some time with it. One thing's for sure, if you need an emergency boat anchor, this thing will work perfectly. As near as I could tell, they didn't relieve the stainless steel liners at all, so the knife is way unnecessarily heavy. I walked out not buying it for that reason, which I would guess about half the potential buyers will do. It's a shame. Nice knife otherwise, and nice micarta scales.
I was walking around a lake the other day and FOUND THIS ON THE GROUND ! Incredible knife I was just looking it up!
You lucky basterd, good for you
I seen a couple of guys say they had issue with the locking button did they get that fixed by Sog?

@@jerrydonquixote5927 oh wow that's terrible how could we even go about fixing that haha
Just got this blade for Christmas. The locking mechanism no longer locks. I contacted SOG let’s hope they fix the issue.
I’m having the same issue. Am thinking of sending mine back to Sog for a warranty job.

is it just me or are the thumb studs really hard to open? i tried with effort and the force it comes out is really strong too scary knife
The micarta is just pulling oils from your hand. Take an alcohol wipe to it and it will be back to almost new.

American tantos are straight. Japanese tantos have some curve.
