the whole s club bit is jokes "rapping like mr blobby.... skibadibaee, what the f**k you on, LSD?" aint heard this for time and it STILL cracks me up xD
This is rap and garage. It's recorded in double time which means u can rap to it and switch it to garage all in the same tempo. It's all rap until Harvey comes on.
@@Michael-fc7no The tune is called Rap Dis. Its a hip hop tune but then switches into garage. So solid at this time was a garage group. Trus me this was my era. We was all gassed when this dropped. And amazed how they blended Garage and hip hop together in on track. The tune that would be the main influence of grime, is a garage tune called 'pulse x' by Musical mob.
This is Hip Hop beat, it ain't Grime and Neutrino or Oxide I can't remember which one could never spit on a Grime beat, he was more a Garage MC, he could never jump on a Grime beat, remember that casualty track where he says "swing badda badda badda swing like a birdie listen me sing" no not a chance.
Banger I had to wait for it to come on music chans on sky about 20yrs ago don’t know why just remember this lol if u knew what I thought u would shT bricks 😂 😎🤯
The difference between this and the Grime scene that followed it is that these guys had great word play and rhyming skills, they also have produced structured music. Grime was just a very high tempo with often uninteresting ryhmes. I don't hate it but I think after So Solid Crew, Oxide Nutrino and the general garage scene UK hip-hop took a step back for a while.
1:58 I remember Neutrino’s original verse on this, before he had to censor most of it, even on the CD. He’d be dissing a load of people, mostly the Dreem Teem who refused to play their tunes cos “it wasn’t proper garage” or some shite like that. Also something about George Michael. When hosting their sets on So-Solid Sundays on Delight FM I’d hear the full version whenever he’d be on mic. I can’t find it on the web anywhere but I’m sure I’ve got a tape recording of it, I might try and upload to RUclips.
Neutrino was my absolute secondary school crush, I remember covering my German book with wallpaper and printing Neutrino on my book 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Those were the days.
And they say Wiley started Grime, this was a good couple years before roll deep and you cant really class this beat as garage either...is this the first ever Grime Beat????
WOLVES19861 100% oxide and neutrino don't get the credit they deserve for the part they played in grime. And would say this wasn't the first. Up middle finger could be classed as grime and that was before this.
Im 40 and still listening to this in 2024, life was so much more fun back then.
Me too from Amsterdam!
I remember trying to get so solid as a ringtone. Today’s generation have no idea.
Remeber trying to infared the tunes
Looool 💯💯💯
Hahahahahah damn bruv, just damnnnn !! 100 nostalgia points for you
@@pottdogg4207 wow true, on the nokia right?
Thank God I grew up during this era.... youths today don't know the blueprint! 1st Album ever copped So Solid Big Up!
Just the word copped 😂 man I feel so old lol
Oxide didn’t realise that this production was the birth of grime
💯
You are dumb
No. Wiley, Dizzee, Nasty, Ruff Squad and em were already doing their ting when this song came out.
@@Yawdan Wiley said himself oxide and neutrino were doing it before him.
@@Yawdan Maybe not oxide and neutrino specifically but definitely so solid crew.
Im 39 it 2023 fuk the new shit take this any day this shit still bangs hard dun know
Absolutely. im 35
youts today dont know.
ivan ooze not a fucking clue they've missed the better era of music
ivan ooze fam they have NO clue!!! Lol
lol really? I know these sick beats!
Stfu every generation says the same shit
Why would a 16 year old know about a tune that was made when they where 2
Legendary. New shit doesn't even come close!!
THIS IS ART, Takes me back to the best days of my life when London had that raw grime feel. Makes me want to put on my Schott jacket and TNs. Memories
haha I remember everyone had a Schott jacket and TNs with a JD sports drawstring bag....those were the days
2020 anyone?
I still bang this classic sometimes!
A new clear HD version would bang!!

"Don't stop moving - I stop every time I hear your music!"
You’re name is reminding me of what we have as U.K. music now
Quality line! neutrino was going at Dane bowers n s club dem times
Mainly a Heavy Metal fan growing up...but god damn if Oxide & Neutrino didn't grt me pumped. There ain't nothing like this no morr

Still bumping this in 2023 🎉 This one was ahead of its Time!
This beat still gives me chills ❄❄
Swiss murdered this track..UK hood music at its prime
I'm a DJ, but I heat up mics when I flow 🔥
Skat D has to get a mention
Mate I remember when all these songs dropped, what bangers 🤙
Originators. The Foundation. Classic.
Scat D was another level, no one has that delivery or that potency on a beat, always my favourite
Totally agree.
Same ways he delivers lefts and rights to females its crazy lol!
the whole s club bit is jokes
"rapping like mr blobby.... skibadibaee, what the f**k you on, LSD?"
aint heard this for time and it STILL cracks me up xD
The birth of grime right here!
@El Matadores nah this is straight grime
Its actually closer to the Dr Dre G-Funk sound, especially with the whistle sound
This is rap and garage. It's recorded in double time which means u can rap to it and switch it to garage all in the same tempo. It's all rap until Harvey comes on.
@@shankleshankle7077 I disagree, this is grime. Too slow to be a garage beat
@@Michael-fc7no The tune is called Rap Dis. Its a hip hop tune but then switches into garage. So solid at this time was a garage group. Trus me this was my era. We was all gassed when this dropped. oxides beats didn't make sense for back then. You could say this was the beginning for grime. Dark, gritty gangster grime.
As I have said they killed their own game. Was too early for this shit at the time.
What Oxide, Neutrino and So Solid did was kill their own game. They opened the path for others in grime and closed their own. Too ahead of their time.
This was my music when I was a teen and there’s still nothing out there like this even to this day
Facts
Mad props to whoever put this on youtube!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE THIS TRACK!!!!!!!!!!!
At 3:08 when the tempo changes its pure fire.
That bassline man 🔥
Anyone got a loop of that that's hard as hell
Who spat that part bro went absolutely in
Skat D was a genuine bad man. Look at his face at the end when they're all looking through the windscreen 😂
For REAL though
Dillian whyte
And didn't the tabloid press just love reporting on his misdeeds - real or alleged - at the time.
@eclectica1 Well, they said he was a wife beater, amongst other things. I dunno. Scat D don't snitch.
This track brings back so many memories
This was way ahead of its time.
Legendary set levels with this video and tune

the videos that oxide and neutrino back in the day are far better than the shit that comes out in the UK now

Nah the majority of this is more a grime styled beat but the only part that's more garage is the part with the drums
