    What i really loved about these guys was their conscious effort to not sound like they were from New York or LA. They represented the true voice of black London.

    • @arranboon1
      @arranboon1 9 лет назад +56

      Hence why I find it hard to listen to other old school UK hip hop artists like Hijak and that. Their American sounding accents are so forced and awkward. I much prefer the beats over the vocals when it comes to acts like them.. But London Posse? Whole different kettle of fish, mate. Love the vocals and the beats..

      If you search old school UK hip hop mixes you should find some, I'm not good with the names I just grew up around a lot of the people of that era. Demon Boyz are defo one to look at, they are like the original pioneers. Blade is another one to look at. One of the members of demon boyz went solo after some time his name is Million Dan now and he's still doing tracks today.

    Before grime and drill music. We had London Posse creating a whole new way of delivering UK Hip Hop. I definitely rate Black Twang but not as highly as London Posse. Black Twang was a level below them, more comparable, skill-wise, with Gunshot, Jehst, Lewis Parker and so on. To me London Posse was above them all. And I mean the best London Posse tracks were better than the best tracks the others made. But they all had great skills.

    Love London Posse , after Demon Boyz they were the next crew to keep it real, nice hearing that inner London Cockney/ragga accent , unfortunately long gone now

    Faze one, Cookie Crew, Monie Love, Wee Papa Girls, Derek B. were the few British Mcs I was familiar with. This is hot though. It's better than what the fuck they play today.

    They never called that style 'grime' in HipHop Connections when I was a nipper and was listening to London Posse, Hijack, Gunshot and Silver Bullet, Demon Boyz etc.
    It was all coming out of the Babylon for the most part but it was a healthy scene and this stuff still got the power and energy that is so lacking in these x-factor times.

    Nice reference to the TV Series Banacek at about 0:50 .Banacek was an American detective TV series starring George Peppard that aired on the NBC network from 1972 to 1974.
