Great job Priscilla!!! I’m 27 and also thinking of going back to school and also leaning toward accounting I find it interesting also, and you’re my role model since I was thinking I can’t go to school, but you have motivated me to do so!

@@balrajsingh7395 which has more salary someone with an account degree or someone with finance degree
Bachelor in Accounting and Masters in finance is the best choice , I see
I’m a junior currently studying at LSU. I started off in General Business knowing all of my early credit hours would carry over to whatever I wanted to go into, and I switched over to Finance this semester.
Great choice.
Hello I'd like to know if finance is hectic and if it involves a lot of maths?
@@lafezekangema__ I’ve found finance to be very manageable. The only math class I had to take was business calculus my freshman year. I placed out of the basic math class with my ACT score. Accounting and finance classes can involve some math though. Accounting is almost exclusively addition and subtraction. Finance sometimes involves ratios and you have to know how to calculate stuff like projected earnings, interest, dividends, etc. You’ll still have to take accounting classes as a finance major, but more finance classes than accounting.
Hello I am about to start at LSU as well, I just wanted to know how the program is. I am also not good at math but am interested in finance how intense would you say the math is?
@@lafezekangema__ Sorry for the delayed response. I think the math is very manageable. The only math class I’ve taken was my first semester of freshman year. It was Business Calculus and I passed with a B-. Any other math is simple stuff in Finance and Accounting classes. This is stuff like adding and subtracting on a balance sheet, plugging in values into financial formulas, and calculating things like rate of return which is just addition and multiplication for the most part.
I like accounting. Are there careers in accounting where you don't have to stay in the office all day? I like to move around and talk to people when it comes to careers
I think with the pandemic you've seen most accounting jobs being done remote. Tax accountants move around a bit🙌🏾.
Ter E Rucks I realize this is many months later than your OP, but the accountants that I, and many others, use for agriculture are very frequently doing on farm visits. They spend plenty of time in their office, but they definitely spend their fair share of time on the road helping clients. This is just one guy’s personal experience and I wish you the best of luck!
Auditing requires moving around a bit and consulting also deals with more interaction with clients (most likely via zoom)
IRS Revenue Officer you do a lot of outdoor field work trying to collect taxes from individuals and businesses and your a Civil Enforcement Officer!
Wilmington University has an integrated course of BS Accounting & Finance. Nice way to learn the best of both worlds.
I’m 35 and planning to go back to school for accounting . I already have an entry level position, but later would love to move up into a higher position.
I'm doing double major in finance and accounting 🤓

I am a therapist with 4 master's degrees but very underpaid. I am going into financial planning soon tho. There are a lot of issues in this counseling field. A lot of jobs dont want to pay you right. They want to work you to death without benefits and 401k and they also get mad when people don't show up to appointments(they get mad because they want to be able to bill so much per week and if the person does not show they get mad). Which Major that have mixing Accounting & programming? Or do I need some Double Major to do that?
Check out my video is double majoring worth it.
@@ElevateToTheUnknown & Triple Major?
Ok, a Major that have accounting & programming, it is not a Double Major.
Do you think it worth double majoring in accounting and finance?
If you can handle it and not sure which one you want to do.
Yes. That way you can get closer credits to a quick CPA takes 2 years. Then get any finance carts like CFA or another with less school.
Hey man, I was wondering which one of the two do you consider more relaxed (less stressful) and also easier to do? Finance or Accounting?
Neither is relaxing. They are both difficult and demanding but that goes with big money.
Both are hard but personally I found finance slightly easier. Accouting feels like learning a new language with some mild math while finance feels like just doing more complex math and applying it to the real world. I'm not good at math either
@@sylvesterboachie-darquah9950 Yeah I'm not that good at Math's Easier I'm a C student when it comes to math.
@@Aiden_Muslim Same 😢
I'm honestly very interested in both 😥 what degree do I pursue now?
Accounting is generally more versatile
Conversely, finance is generally better earning potential.
If you’re interested in both, do a double major.
isn't a 'management accountant' an accountant?
Management accounting is focused on making decisions for the future.
These comparison videos (all over youtube) are overly simplistic and misleading IMO
Is the comparison between management accounting and accounting or is it between finance and accounting for people deciding on which degree to get?
@@ElevateToTheUnknown
If the topic is just about which degree to get?
Then (It seems) students can never know what they will enjoy, until they are already in it and want to switch degrees/ majors/ careers because it's nothing like what they thought it would be.
I am thinking:-
1. financial accounting
2. management accounting
and
3. finance should ALL (three) be compared side by side.
so a distinction between a "Management Accountant" vs "Financial Analyst" could be brought forward, because I can't find these two ideas being compared anywhere.
But, in all of these comparative videos between Accounting and Finance, the idea that "Finance" focuses on the future whilst "Accounting" focuses on the past is heavily promoted.
Please put your reply in Chatgpt and ask it to correct and simplify your response and then edit this comment with what is returned.🤷🏾♂️
@@ElevateToTheUnknown I thought my reply was quite simple.
STEM is anyday better
✌🏿
I’m an iGCSE student and accounting is one of my subjects and I absolutely love it! However where I live accountants aren’t paid a lot and I’m much likely to get a higher salary in finance, I don’t know what finance is about tho. If it’s similar to economics, I don’t want it. What should I do?
Become an accountant and move to the places they are paid higher.
Accounting has a great mobility potential. Accountants even often move overseas and find new work quite easily.
Your accounting earning potential is not limited by your current location.
@@ElevateToTheUnknown Ohh nice! And I heard that accounting is more for you if you like a more structured work, but it’s also repetitive and I’m afraid that I’ll regret choosing it. I’m also considering marketing, but I don’t know. I still have 2 years to decide so I guess I shouldn’t stress too much about it
Hi I have a question, will be I able to study finance and do well in it if I took accounting as subject in high school and struggled with it ?
Which has more math?
They are about just about the same.
Finance
Finance but accounting is very detailed and lengthy in contrast with finance
Hey Antoine! I'm planning on majoring in accounting but am confused on choosing my minor in MIS or Finance.
So for MIS the pro can be the technical skills that I can gain which will help me win against the automation in accounting since accounting is getting automated. The con might be that MIS is coding and maths heavy. Is the math more difficult in MIS or Finance?
As for finance I feel like if I someday would want to work as an investment banker or any other finance roles, I wouldn't be able to do so if I choose MIS as my minor instead of Finance. And can I develop the technical skills that would help me win against the automation by doing some certificates in IT instead of minoring in MIS? I feel like I can later on develop tech skills but can't go back to do a minor in finance. What would be your advice? I would highly appreciate your answer❤
you asked the question 4 different times in 4 different videos.
Neither. Economics all day.
😂
Hi I have question if u choose one of these two after graduate where do you work? In bank or company?
Either. It's your choice
Hello im a senior in highschool and not sure on what I want. Is it hard to land a job in accounting or finance in california? What pays better?
Its not that hard to find a job in either field. Your job options will be open to the world, not just California. Finance has the higher salaries.
How can I get 1 on 1 mentoring?
Economics is the best
Economics is a fantastic major.
@@ElevateToTheUnknown Thank you! 😍

👍🏻
What does it mean to get a minor in something? What is the difference from a degree?
Well you can't get a minor without having a major so a major is the primary field of study and a minor is the secondary field of study. Do a quick google search and it will explain it.
