I freed my prismatic secret rare Blue-Eyes White Dragons from their display case! I'm a mad man! I put them into the deck, double sleeved of course, and I put 3 different BEWDs in the display case. Ghost rare of the classic anime art, the Japanese only promo with Kaiba in the art and KC foiling, and the original Bandai card. One cool thing I don't see people point out with this product is that not only is the Monster Reborn the uncensored art, all of the cards are! X Head Cannon and XYZ Dragon Cannon most noticeably.
Paul just cuts the Warning ⚠️ label away.....10yrs later a commercial on TV " Were you exposed to harsh chemicals while opening a Konomi briefcase?... You are entitled to a cash settlement" 🤣🤣🤣
Same! I was incredibly surprised by that when I opened mine up. I ended up ordering a couple duplicates of some cards (like Fiend’s Sanctuary) that I use in other decks just so I could have a “play” copy and a “collection” copy.
Briefcase contains and can expose you to Lead, that’s what the warning label says. I paid $400 for a toxic lump of metal, is anyone else besides upset about this or am I the only one? I reached out to Konami but they refuse to disclose what in the briefcase contains lead.
If all this product included was the briefcase, nothing else, I could see that argument. But you really are underestimating the value of this product if you think $100 is reasonable.
@@ThatOneWeirdFlex Didn’t say it was worth $400. Just that your $100 statement was not based in reality. But if you insist, let’s break down what’s in it: 1. Decent-quality custom-made metal briefcase with a bottom specifically molded for holding trading cards (instead of being flat metal or fabric-lined) The briefcase alone-nothing in it except the dividers-Konami could have sold for at least $100 as a collectible item, I’m sure. 2. Limited-edition commemorative plaque containing three Prismatic Secret Rare copies of Blue-Eyes White Dragon Keep in mind, DDS-001 Blue-Eyes White Dragon goes for over $600 each on the secondary market. That card was in a limited first-version run of Dark Duel Stories for GameBoy. This plaque is from a made to order set. I would say that this alone could have sold from $50 to $100, easily. And possibly even more. 3. A replica of Seto Kaiba’s manga deck, all cards in Ultra Rare, using Japanese artworks, on Japanese card stock Now, let’s focus on those Japanese artworks, shall we? At least six cards in the set (X-Head Cannon, XYZ-Dragon Cannon, XY-Dragon Cannon, Monster Reborn, Fiend’s Sanctuary, and Ring of Destruction) have their original, uncensored artwork. Using the Lost Art Promotion as a guide, a player would need to spend more than $180 in product at an Official Tournament Store to be given six LART series cards. Correct? Now, I’m not saying that the cards are worth that, individually, but that does give some perspective on how even some of the more minor cards in this set carry some value. Now, let’s focus on the Ultra Rare aspect. This deck is nearly 60 cards, yeah? Konami rarely includes more than five foil cards (Ultra and Super Rare) in a Structure Deck, and most Structure Decks are 40 to 50 cards. So this is definitely more valuable than a $10 Structure Deck would be, just because it costs more to produce. Oh, and don’t sleep on the quality. The use of OCG card stock for these is immediately noticeable and adds to the production cost, I’m sure. Oh, yeah, and the Quarter-Century Secret Rare Blue-Eyes White Dragon in this is also nice. So again, I’m not saying it’s worth $400, but saying you’d never pay more than $100 for something like this is saying waaaay more about you than it is about this product.
@ThatOneWeirdFlex consider the whole package. The briefcase is sturdy aluminum and stainless steel with a soft padded inner lining, with the yugioh Kaiba Corp branding on it. It also has the acrylic dividers. You get the 3 blue eyes in the thick display case with the yugioh branding on it. You also get a 60- card deck that's all holographic, which is worth around $50 itself when considering the price of other all-foil sets, typically 80 cents- $1 per card (5-card boosters for 3.99-4.99, duel devastators was 50 cards for $40). A good chunk of the price is from factoring in the production cost of a specialty made-to-order item, it had to be designed and then a manufacturer had to take workers, materials and machinery away from standard manufacturing efforts, odds are wherever these were made wasn't just churning out nearly identical briefcases where they could just stamp the yugioh label on, load the cards and other stuff into a foam insert and call it a day.
So glad I had a chance to snag one of these. Just got mine today too!! It's really cool, and using the briefcase for card storage now. Dreams come true! 😭
Attack Guidance Armor took over 20 years to come to the OCG btw. Don't forget it took them 20 years to print a 2004 battle trap exclusively for this product. Edit: A battle trap with a HOPT to boot.
This is really cool, I had some doubts when I first ordered it but after receiving it and seeing others open it, definitely feels like it was worth it. And a decent investment from the looks of it lol
The Masked Beast Des Guardias might've been from his 4 way duel against Yugi, Joey, and Marik. They had to take a monster out of their deck and the turn order was based off of the highest attack. Pretty sure Kaiba threw it in his deck because he's really anal about going first. On the other end, Joey chose his weakest monster cause he didn't care.
Actually, Ryu-Kishin (the 1000 ATK one) was Kaiba’s first card to be played to the best of my knowledge, way back in Duel 009 of the manga. This briefcase and the deck inspired me to start going through and catalog every single card used by Yugi and Kaiba in the manga, second series anime, and various spin-off shows and movies. And, of course, collect all of those cards. I’m less than a dozen away from completing Yugi’s collection. Kaiba’s, I’m still cataloging, but at least I know I have all of his manga cards now!
i would take the blue eyes out and put inner sleeves on before returning them back into the glass case. i've had plenty of slabbed cards get damaged due to friction from these plastic/glass cases.
In the anime there were 4 blue eyes cards. However, the ultimate dragon only needed three of em. Why did they put four of them in the anime to begin with or did they retcon it somewhere?
Pegasus released 4 copies. Kaiba probably got Pegasus to make ultimate dragon since he had 3. I mean it's basically confirmed he would go on to have Pegasus make Kaibaman.
Still waiting on my dispatch email, it's really getting to me seeing America getting their orders before Europe, but it'll make the actual delivery all the more satisfying - absolutely going to be using it for keeping all my foil cards safe.
My dividers (the hard ones they go into the briefcase) were super scratched up. But otherwise I'm super happy with this product. So tempted to pull those blue eyes put to play with but they look so good in the glass.
@@1997masterlink Pretty sure you've found out by now, but no the dividers are not scratched up... there's a sticky adhesive that you can peel off. The scratches are on those things, not the dividers themselves.
Did Paul find the secret compartment for a playmat in the lid afterwards? (It's listed on the sheet if you read it, so not *really* secret; you just remove the foam pad)
So I have a friend who got both TCG and OCG versions who’s trying to sell me his OCG since I’m on the fence of ordering a briefcase. Personally I only like the OCG more due to the blue eyes being like jump festa. While the TCG is like DDS.. other than that I’m back and fourth on if to get a good deal on a OCG or overpay for a TCG… I care about rarity mostly than anything else as this will be for me and not for resale purposes. Should I get a steal on the OCG briefcase unopened for $280 or overpay the ridiculous aftermarket prices for the TCG which is double-triple? 💀💀💀
Aw come on, how do they give you Grenade Ring of Destruction and the Ank Monster Reborn but NOT the alternate art of Polymerization. Also odd they didn't have Ring of Defense in there. Honestly I'd have swapped Dark Energy out for it.
Take a look at both products and compare them in terms of materials and construction quality. You literally have to be blind to say something like that. But the KC case is still overpriced but is not a rip-off like the TCG classic.
This is Kaiba’s manga deck, not his anime one. Kaiba never played Pot of Greed in the manga. (That’s why certain odd cards like “Invitation to a Dark Sleep” are in here that he never used in the anime, to my recollection.)
Neat. A little upset there wasn't a wall of cards (that somehow never got shuffled around despite kaiba throwing his briefcase everywhere)😅 But the fact that you can use the brief case for storage makes it pretty cool. Now we need to see how the deck plays!
