This is going to be very fun watching you create this Toy Shop. You asked for ideas. Maybe 1 of the rooms could be a GIFT WRAPPING STATION! JC PENNEY USED TO GIFT WRAP!! JUST A THOUGHT. Happy Crafting!!❤

I’m so glad! I’m already hard at work creating templates of the walls to work with. There’s a lot of planning to do!

I love it already! Whitney LaBrie has a great tutorial for tape wire lighting.
When you do the exterior, I think it would be nice to use different siding for the tower for visual interest.

Love Whitney’s (and yours 😊) videos! I will definitely check out her tape wiring. It’s the one thing I don’t enjoy doing.

Looking forward to your creations. Coincidentally our mini group will be focusing on Edwardian toys for a shop so this will fit in well. There is a book by Jane Harrop called Toys and Games which may be of use when filling the shop with appropriate toys.

Thank you so much for the recommendation. I’ll have to see if I can find the book. Enjoy your club projects! I wish I could join you.

I am looking forward to seeing this project come to life. I am new to miniatures so I know I will learn a lot just by watching. I have already watched some of your other videos. You’re an excellent teacher! You really explain things very well. Also, I am looking forward going down memory lane too, not Edwardian, but the 60’s! 😆

Thank you for your kind compliments. 😊 I have taken a few weeks off for the holidays but I will be back with a new video on the toy shop after the new year!

I suppose you'd need electronic toys. Video games and game systems. Perhaps the room with the glass case? We've taken creativity and imagination away from the child and entertained them instead. Its kind of sad.
Train sets, board games are always in style. Dolls and action figures. Musical toys. Puzzles.
I doubt long standing toy stores would have all matching shelving.
That's interesting your husband reversed some pieces and still somehow made it fit and work.

It’s going to be a vintage toy shop so no need for electronic video games, etc. I grew up in the 60s and 70s so that’s the nostalgia I want to capture, just before the video age. The downstairs will be even earlier, a Victorian toy shop. There’s plenty of room for both.
