He is a good choice, he is a tournament manager more than league manager. He can do both job good. But he is good at tactics in one single game to win. Pep is good at league titles over 9 months. But Tuchel is good in a must win game. Just look at how he did with Bayern against Real in UEFA semi finals, 5 min away from the title !

Dear english patriots: name me one english manager, who has won an international trophy in the past? I have one for you: Alf Ramsey. Since then...nobody!! Name me one english manager on club lever, who has won any major trophy in the last years? I can`t remember one! Alex Ferguson i scottish!
You just had a larger than life german coach at Liverpool. Tuchel won with Chelsea. Pep with City. Arne Slot is manager at Liverpool right now. Any english manager on a top job in the permiere league? Oh year: nobody!
It is the year 2024. Get used to it. And support Tuchel!
All the best for you. Oh year, i am german. And yes, we untill this day, had only german managers with the Nationalmannschaft. Just look up our record in international tournaments, to remind youself, why that is.
    Greets.

I can think of a lot more darker days in English football such as the fighting at euro 96, drug taking before the euro 2020 and chaos in the stadium during the final between England and Italy, David Beckham over reacting in the papers that caused death threats and I remember a noose around a dummy neck, Sam alladyce and Svens scandal and I can go on and on, tuchel is a great manager and he's better than any English manager we have at the moment

  • @robdorr1

Tuchel should pick up the phone and call Jesse Marsch, Canada’s men’s national team manager. He’s an American managing their neighbor to the north. Similar to Tuchel’s situation in England, many Canadian football pundits, indeed many Canadians, were aghast that Canada hired an American coach especially given the rivalry across many sports between the two countries. But, the similarities don’t end there. Just like Tuchel, this is Jesse Marsch’s first foray into international football. They have both managed in the Bundesliga as well as the Premier League and prior to their current appointments, they both had interest in the national team jobs of their home countries. Marsch has completely embraced the Canadian men’s national team job. They had an amazing run at Copa America and in the three games they have played subsequent to the fourth place finish at COPA, Canada has yet to lose a match. Now, obviously results matter in terms of public perception, but let me tell you, the Canadian public has fallen in love with Jesse Marsch. He has embraced what it means to be Canadian, including learning and singing the Canadian national anthem for all 12 matches where he has been in charge.
I know it sounds stupid, but winning the trust of the supporters is a big part of this job and singing the national anthem will go a long way towards that goal. Tuchel needs to call Marsch ASAP and then just follow the blueprint that Jesse has drawn up because knock on wood, but it’s been hugely successful so far.

Why is there a lingering resentment that we lost on pens in 1990 and 1996?
Germany bagged all their penalties and we missed. They were close matches but you cant feel resentment because they are better at pens.

I can finally see the problem why the brits won nothing since 1966: It's more important what a coach says to the press and about world problems then what he is doing on the pitch. As a german, good to know, now you have a coach who produces results, but was a catastrophe when talking to the media. This will be...interesting. :D As a Bayern fan I can say withouth the shadow of a doubt that Tuchel was the worst coach we had since a very long time. The good thing for him is he sounds different/more sympathetic in english, but you already know how thinn his skin is, with all of his flaws, he is still the best coach you guys had in a while. I mean, my dog could have produced Southgates results with that ugly thing he calls football. I think England will be a contender next world cup, but too bad that we have the better german coach. ;)
