The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog is a great free game celebrating Sonic's anniversary (idr which one but its a big one) Im always a sucker for any detective point n click games and this has so much charm!!! I love it.
one great free game i played recently is vividstatis. its combination of visual novel and rhythm with some arg ellements. and its all amazing the story is so good and the rhythm game play is hard but fun and the arg puzzles are realy hard (i just skipped them). right now 4 chapters of story are releast and with more to come.
VIVID STASIS IS SO GOOD! that's what I was going to recommend. the ARG sections get pretty tricky but often times I found myself stuck on them because I was over thinking them. in the visual novel part of the game, the characters solve a basic cipher and use it to access a website to find clues, and that scene sorta acts like a tutorial for the other puzzles. this game also has one of my favorite mechanics which is boss battles in a rhythm game. I remember GH3 used to have these and I always kinda miss them when I play other rhythm games. The idea of a track as an "opponent" is really underutilized but this game does it very well.
For a fast paced arcadey game: super crate box by vlambeer (the nuclear throne and luftrausers people) is a very simple game but extremely addicting and fun For a game in the non horny visual novel category, milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk will fuck you up big time (in a good way) For a fun little puzzle game, 20 small mazes is a series of 20 small mazes, each with a fun twist
*Overclocked* is a genuinely good fast-paced platformer that blends "combat" into movement to keep up the pace. There's also a surprising amount of content in it. *NaissanceE* is a weird surreal exploration game with some scary vibes but no jumpscares, set in a seemingly infinite structure. Also free in this vein is Fugue in Void. *BIT RAT: Singularity* is a nice free puzzle game (technically a prologue for an unreleased game) that expands on the classic rotate-tiles-to-connect-pipes genre. BONUS: a ton of indie games offer free demos, highly recommend giving those a shot to anyone who wants to broaden their horizons without spending tons of money or time (although you do risk adding a bunch of cool games to your wishlist this way...)

mizino dose what a little to the left couldn't: make a mischievous cat actually likeable! a little to the left made the cat an obstacle and in the dlc's made it pretty much a unskipable cut seen
Oh hey free games! Im in the game reviews industry (as a video editor for a channel that playes steam games in alphabetical order) and i'd love to add "LIFE" Not Found and //TODO: Today to the list, both of them are free and altough short, wonderfully artistic experiences
Both games, as you propably can notice, start with weird symbols and that's why i know about them - they're one of the first games on Steam when sorted alphabetically and i worked on videos for them
7:06 I was honestly half expecting that flock of birds to get blendered there like wind turbines so often do in real life. But good video, as for free games I'll second another commentor and highly recommend The WereCleaner. Additionally, there are quite a few free student games on Steam that are just really good overall, such as Cervus Blade which is a soulslike that I really wish was a full-length game I could pay for. Or Postmouse, which may be more up your alley if you prefer something on the cozier side, it's got Redwall vibes but in a gentler and more modern setting.

As for free games I enjoy on steam myself... okay this is cheating, but I wrote a huge amount of 'Transformation Tycoon' and am a heritable staff member in that game and its a free game on steam so it counts, even if saying, "The one I worked on!" Is a very eye rolling answer to the question of, 'what free games do you enjoy?' Aside from it, I don't think I've played many free games on steam since negative experiences with micro transaction heavy 'free' games has lead me to give more priority to CHEEP games that offer full experiences for the price of a bag of chips. OH! The Were Cleaner! That's free AND a fantastic, adorable, darkly funny little game! I forgot it was free cus it feels like something I'd have paid 5$ for, but no! Its a free, full game, last about an hour or so with some room for mastery and its delightful!
The neat thing about the cat game at the end is that if you pick up the DLC in game, I believe it goes to the humane society! It's very cool 💞 Also glad to hear you're enjoying In Stars and Time- just one of the best games I've played in a long time!! OH COOL I'll have to give Transformation Tycoon a try!!
