I have been considering buying the Vulcan and did not think of it as a touring bike. I currently have a 1250cc sports tourer and was thinking of downsizing to a 650cc fun/commuter bike. This was a good video to watch, very informative thank you.
Yes! I'm glad you think they look good on the bike too! They are so much more useful than any cruiser bags. I did so much research before I pulled the trigger on these Kriega luggage bags. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi VotoCycling and thank you for your video. Love your style , that Vulcan S' 650 cc is just awesome . I am looking forward for some moor videos from . Regards from Australia Mich. Ride safely...
I installed the GIVI PL 4151 on my 2016 Kawasaki Vulcan S. The GIVI printed institutions were for a different rack entirely. They sent a bag full of bolt, washer and spaces that aren't clearly shown in the poorly drawn diagram. It took over three hours and four attempts to get the racks installed, level and perpendicular to the Vulcan 650 S. My GIVI Trekker 33 panniers still touch the turn signals when installed.
Wow, that sounds a like a mess you had to deal with. I have to say, the instructions were not that good with mine either. They were black and white and quite dark and hard to make out. I don't use the Trekker 33 panniers so I'm not able to help you with that. I hope you've found a fix for your panniers touching the turn signals.
I've been looking to buy a motorcycle again it's been a few years since I've only one like 15 years I've been looking at the Honda Valkyrie the Indian Scout and this one has definitely caught my eye and it seems like the Price Is Right definitely going to buy a low mileage used one with all the goodies looks good man.
Yes! The Vulcan S is THE best buy cruiser on the market. It's so easy to ride and maintain. It's definitely easy on the wallet. LOL I will say though, the Valkyrie and Scout are definitely going to have better low end torque than the Vulcan S. Good luck on your hunt for a sweet Vulcan S! Thanks for stopping by!
Dude! Very good tutorial and timing as well since this is the first mod I’m doing. I received the passenger foot peg kit yesterday but I’m thinking that I should order the entire backrest kit you installed in this video to install all together at the same time. If you see this comment on a 1 yr + video I’d like to ask if in your opinion is it just best to install all together? I have the passenger seat on because that was just too easy. I also installed the extended reach seat to sit higher and further back because of my 6’4” height. I’m loving this 2019 Vulcan man. Did 400 miles in my first 8 days owning her without getting more than 35 miles from home at any given time. I got the Storm Cloud Blue body color, it spoke to me. I LOVE your style choice in saddle bags. Utility/modern looking! I think we have similar tastes. Funny thing is your video is the first time I’ve noticed this style of saddle bags! This video is a win win win for me at the right time. Thank you sir.
Hi there! You are welcome for the video. I would highly recommend doing the backseat at the same time as the passenger foot peg if you are ordering from the same brand. I personally like installing everything together since I don't have to go back and reopen the bike up again. Its probably not a big deal for some people, but that's just me. As for the bags, I used it on this bike for a week trip and it worked amazing. You won't regret installing everything together. Finally, I'm actually a female rider. 😉 Hope this helps and I'm so glad you're enjoying your new bike. It's such a great bike. I also love the color!
How are the bags mounted in this video? Are they simply hanging against the rack? Or do they latch somehow onto the frame at all? They looked fairly solid when you pushed on them, I'm just confused how that is if you're simply hanging them on over seat straps.
The bags are not simply hanging on the rack. They are also attached via straps wrapped under the bottom part of the rack. Then the straps are fed through and around the bag (tucked in nicely), then up and over the top of the bag. Lastly, these bags are also attached via a Kirega platform (sold separately) that is attached to the rack as well. With the platform on, the over the seat straps are no longer needed. Hope this helps.
@@VotoCycling Thanks for the reply! I liked the look so much ordered the same setup for my Vulcan. I'll probably not use the platforms and just keep the OS Straps, as the platforms are apparently discontinued? Or at least from what I can find. All the same, looking forward to the install!
Hello my dear friend, I just come across your video today and subscribed your channel. Right now I am looking for a cruise, there are two candidates on my list. Yamaha Bolt and of course the Kawasaki Vulcan S. I see on your channel there are only I tour video with KVS. I hope you are still enjoy it. It looks like it’s almost three years you own the bike. Would you recommend me to take this one? Is The seat comfort issue solved? BTW the gears are great. Already on my amazon list ;) Wish you and your family all the best. Regards, Jack
I would recommend something with a bit more power if you are going to do long touring trips traversing many highways. Under load, it can be under powered. But around canyons and mountains, it is a blast!
love the video....do you have a vid on your tool bag for this bike? i love my Vulcan s abs....subbed. where did you find the brackets? i see the bags but not the brackets
Hi there! I don't have a video on my tool bag for this bike yet, I have to put one together before my June trip first. I got the brackets from RevZilla. www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-pl4115-side-case-racks-kawasaki-vulcan-s-2015-2018 Hope that helps. Thanks for stopping by!
Love the overall look of the bike. Are you happy with the back rest? I just ordered up my passenger seat and pegs, but having a hard time deciding which back rest to go with for the money.
I'm happy with the backrest. The price isn't too bad and my wife says that isn't as reclined as she'd like but it's tall enough. She said the cushion is sufficient and not too bad. I like it because after installation, it feels pretty sturdy. I also like it because it doesn't protrude over the plastic covers of the bike and it integrates with the luggage rack well. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I assume if you installed platforms, you removed the monokey attachment on those racks? If so, how did you go about doing that? Sorry for the additional questions haha
You're welcome! I still like the Triumph better than the Kawasaki. Unfortunately, the Kawasaki can never rival the Triumph's capabilities. Thanks for stopping by and have a nice day!
VotoCycling I agree , the sreetfighters have less weight also. I am also asian (born in Thailand) and I'am short. I have had a lot of different bikes. I loved my Kawasaki Z750 the most , I had a Suzuki M800 , it was heavy. I have also camped a lot with the bike+tent. It is nice till get that freedom. Ride sade!
Fantastic bike, digging the colour, I wanna set my Vulcan up for touring also, do you think the radiator guard is worth it? Have you ever had a situation where something has damaged the radiator?
Thanks! I like the color too. I've seen/heard rocks hitting radiators causing anywhere from minor to major damage. I have not experience this but then again, I've always installed a radiator guard on my bikes right after purchasing the bike. Thanks for commenting!
Love the bike. The bags look terrible though. Not just those, but any. The bike has such nice flowing lines, a great design and a fantastic paint job . any attachments just take away from that.

Those bags actually do look really good on that bike. Good size too. They look to be actually useful unlike many cruiser bag options.

Looks great! Thank you for taking the time!! I pick my new 2018 Vulcan S up today!
Radiator guards are such a "no brainer" the rack/backrest and bags look very nice as if they were with the bike from new. Nice work. :>)
Thank you!
Nice straight forward video... No dramas..
This video is freaking awesome! Everything I want to install on mine in one video! Super good job!
Thanks for the help! I just installed the back rest for my 2019 Vulcan S with your help! :-)
You are welcome! Thanks for watching and commenting. Congrats on your 2019 Vulcan S!! :)
Hi VotoCycling and thank you for your video. Love your style , that Vulcan S' 650 cc is just awesome . I am looking forward for some moor videos from . Regards from Australia Mich. Ride safely...
Thank you kindly. This bike is probably the easiest by to mod so far. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

Really nice set of bags; you did an excellent job of installing them!
Thank you lady! I'm really happy with how the whole setup turned out, especially the bags! Can't wait to go motocamping!
The bags look cool on the bike, good job.
Yay! Some else things so too. I think I might be the only nut case who puts adventure luggage on a cruiser. LOL Thanks for stopping by.

Do you use the same bolts that the bike brings to attache the luggage rack on the bike? Exception the bolt of the passenger footpegs.
Givi accessory is a quality product.

You have the same handicap I have...not enough hands.
Ficou lindo... a minha retirei a proteção de plastico e guardei, pois não tem como colocar. Produto fabricado no Brasil. Parabéns
Thank you!

There are tiny screws in the attachment points. Take the tiny covers off and remove the screws, then you're all set.
Thanks for a great video! Which bike do you like the best , the Kawasaki or the Triumph?
Jenny (from Sweden)
You're welcome! I still like the Triumph better than the Kawasaki. Unfortunately, the Kawasaki can never rival the Triumph's capabilities. Thanks for stopping by and have a nice day!

Yes, I agree with you. Not many attachments can make a bike look better. Thanks for stopping by!
Does the Vulcan S come with a locking helmet holder?
No, it does not. But, it's accessory from the factory.
Hi, will original kawasaki bolts work with Givi side racks?
Unfortunately, they will not. The bolts are not long enough. So you'll have to use the bolts included in the Givi install kit.
How about a riders backrest?
My passenger it was alright. She said it was too upright for her. Hope this helps.
what are the brand for the backrest?
Givi. Link: www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-ts4115b-back-rest-kawasaki-vulcan-s-2015-2018
Those are not saddle bags. They are suitcases!! Just saying.
Lol, so true.
