The sharp tool image almost made me laugh out loud in the very quiet office because it took me off guard.

Hey! Can you go over spring passes? I would love your take on setting them up and understanding what I do to prevent just needlessly wearing out my tools.
Also. My engineers are always asking me to make heatsinks. I run deep paths with your reduced shank endmills all day. Love them, but am I doing it right?
I'd use a slitting saw but most of my setups are no good for them (too wide).
    Thanks!

We have some great solutions for Heat sinks. Sometimes High Feed mills will be your best choice pending the wall thickness and Depth to be machined.. Is this Aluminum? Also we will be discussing Spring Passes in greater depth in an upcoming episode..

@@dongrandt372 Thanks!!! Yeah, when I watched that episode, I realized those might be the tools I need.
Walls are about 4mm at the thinnest, 55mm at the deepest, with about 10mm between fins.

I've cut fiberglass laminate several times. Abrasive as hell. I used regular mill and found out the best way was to choose helical toolpath. Now I have DLC multiflute for composites. Looking for opportunity to try it out.
