Why do developers like to stick houses together? And, on top of that, these houses cost to much. Why can't the developers build houses so people can WALK around the house without impediment?
I agree with you,, dont like duplexes because you share a wall with your neighbor and that could create issues, but one has to take into consideration that land is not cheap in certain areas, building material and finishes such as cabinets, tiles, bath tubs if you buy good quality to last is not cheap.... and don't forget.... it is not only the house being paid for but the cost of running electricity, paving roads, street signs, don't whatever little landscape was done etc. (all that is not for free and is factoed into each homeowners final price)

I am wondering if the developers could at least, leave or design the section that joins the houses in a manner so that one person can build up a seperate wall on their side? So, both houses would or could be really seperate.... this seperation would cost the developers nothing. Meaning, one house would have the seperation wall built on to it and the other house would have roughly nine(09) inches on their side to optionally build ther own wall on their side. Just a thought. There would be no space to walk around but at least, your side would not necessarly be seperated by just one wall.

I'm just curious as to why you're paying almost 14 million to do your laundry in the sun in modern 2022. Even the old time houses have a wash room the LCD screens on the modern digital washing machines when exposed to high heat stop working. what happens when it rains. It would be practical to have even a small laundry room rather than non at all the people who can afford these units are not cruffs kmt. even apartments have built in laundry areas and the next thing open concept is ok when you have a hood vent over your stove so that your sofa and living room furniture doesn't smell like fry chicken.

Whatever people settle for that's what they are going to get from this NHT. The NHT has been reduced to a cashcow by successive JLP/PNP administrations; hence the poor quality of houses from the NHT. Nothing better will come from the NHT under a JLP/PNP govt.
Honestly, the poorer class of people won't get one of these houses, they just can't afford one of these units it's for the middle class people and the NHT was established for low income earners! To become owners of their own homes! Can persons with earnings of the minimum wages will ever be owners of these houses??!!!

Once you are a contributor to NHT, (low, middle or high income earner) you should be able benefit from their houses. Not sure what the big deal is about those high end houses. Once you have money go for it, and if you don’t just go for one of their houses your salary package can manage. Happy for those who were able to afford those nice apartments, I am sure many of them have had to work very hard and deserve it.

20,000USD is just for the expensive material. Plus you have to put labour and other things in consideration. You will never get a house for 10,000 USD that cant even use to do a proper renovation in the US must something minimal.
I can certainly get a house in the US for $20000 or much less by buying the property taxes & the value of the home would be more than $80000!I know that this is a new development however, what are you really getting for 80,000? Locale, views, yard space, distance between houses, decor, how many bedrooms how many bathrooms is the asking price matching up to your expectations? If I’m investing $80,000 into a vacation home it has to give me what I’m looking for & space is everything!
